Darn. What a crappy spring. Looks like dirty flooded water for my June trip...

When in June? Probably high, and slightly colored, but not necessarily flooded and dirty.
Taneycomo is not the usual tap water clear that it can be this time of year. But even with all the water coming off the top of Table Rock it is still relatively clear, and clean. That would mean the water in Table Rock must be pretty clean as well.
Dirt doesn't filter out going through the flood gates. Neither do the walleye, white bass, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass crappie, catfish, and even paddlefish. All of which are being caught, or seen below Table Rock dam. Even a 40# paddlefishwith a broken bill that was snagged with a trout jig under the broaked bill.

Still up north . . .Springfield to Moberly . . . tornado boxes in Lebanon and Osage Beach. One hour rainfall in those areas: 2".

Highest risk for Branson . . . 6 - 9 PM. . . . . just changed . . . 4 - 11 PM

The amount of instability and expected updraft strengths are
conducive to very large to giant hail production. Current thoughts
are for baseball size or larger hail with the strongest storms.
Thunderstorm wind gusts in excess of 60 mph and a few tornadoes
will also be possible.

High winds, hail, and possible tornados, but no mention of heavy rain.

Yup, but in the areas up north today that have had high winds, hail, heavy lightning and tornadoes, the rainfall has been 2" per hour.

Ah, here it comes, a large, red and orange squall line, with tornado warning box, stretching from NE OK to Springfield, moving SE toward Branson. 1.5" per hour.

KY3 says 70-80 mph winds.

More firing up around Tulsa.

2" hail this morning along the MO/AR line.

Heavy damage in Lebanon area. Lotsa power outages.

Looks like "Stormagedon" just gave the Rock a little bump. Up .06, and trending back down.

Yup, I'm shocked! I bet those that manage lake levels are, too!

We had 4" in the gauge this morning, so I'm wondering where it all went.

But, then, we're certainly not better off than we were when there was a 50-foot cushion, total, when now it's 6'.

Now that I think about it, the only places it rained hard was at the rain gauges.
Seems it was very isolated, and spotty heavy rains. 5" in Branson, but not in the areas that feed Table Rock. Fall Creek flash flooded putti g two feet of water in Danna's, and flooded Fall Creek Resort according to KY3. Taneycomo went up 4', and flooded the downtown camp grounds. Little road side drainage along Fall Creek Rd., Cooper Creek washed a car away with five people in it. Two escaped, two bodies found, and one missing as of around Noon.
But the Rock barely noticed the rain.

2.42" here as of yesterday morning. At least the predicted hail missed us.

Lake is definitely not as busy as usual over Memorial Day weekend.

Off and on rain chances beginning 5-31 all the way to Sunday 6-4.

They must have brought the fourth turbine on line. The Corps website says 3,200 cfs through the gates, and 9,600 through the turbines. There was o e gate with a very small amount of water coming through. Don't know what it takes for 3,200 cfs, but it looked more like it was just a little while the gate was closing. I was there less than two hours before, and the five were still running strong. The tailwater is now the same, or slightly higher than it was before they closed the gates.

Well, considering the forecast for the past four days. Both long range from a week ago, and daily for the past four days. Do you believe ANY of them?
Storms every evening, rain and storms Friday. HA!!! It was one of the most beautiful four day visits to Branson I have had. Beautiful every day.

Beaver's still less than a foot from flood stage. The James and Kings are up, feeding TRL.

About an 11-foot 3-lake cushion right now.

I saw one of the P Cox's yesterday and he said something about the lake level and having to deal with that the last couple of months. I said I hadn't looked, but it felt like about 926. He looked at his phone and said, "Yup, 926.0."

Amazingly little water going anywhere right now.

Seems to be pretty much on Hold.

About an 11-foot cushion.

For those who are new here, for years we have discussed the level of Table Rock Lake. Because Beaver Lake, TRL, and Bull Shoals work together and the total of the three more truly represents where we're at, I am going to reference the "Three Lake Total" as much as I can, rather than focusing on just TRL.

My "cushion" represents the amount of available capacity below flood stage for the total of the three lakes.

It varies slightly at different time of the year, but, generally speaking, the total 3-lake cushion between operating pool and flood stage is around 55 feet.

In 2008, 2011, 2015, and 2017, that entire "cushion" was lost by significant, ongoing precipitation in as short as two weeks, and flooding occurred.

So, in the last ten years, four of them saw flooding situations. Those events are all documented on this forum if you use the "Search" feature.

I know it just seems like common sense, but I believe that the more of a cushion that is maintained prior to the annual rainy season, the better off things are.
