Live (Almost) Ferris Wheel Ride

KY3 takes a spin this AM. The video was a bit clunky for me, but maybe you'll do better. The story/interview lays out the schedule of today's grand opening activities.

Looks very cool, but I think I would rather ride it at night when I could see all the lights of the strip.

Waited in line on opening night for almost 40 minutes because they would only load load 6 of the 40 cars at a time. Wow, the view of the parking lot from 150' up is amazing. It's only $12 for the 8 minute ride.

We went to the lighting of the wheel on Thursday night -- large crowd, traffic really backed up on 76. Before the lighting we got to hear the band from the Trans Siberian Experience at the Music City Centre. Very impressed with the lights on the wheel. Also enjoyed the fireworks afterwards.

I didn't have time to stay for the colored light show, but I did catch the wheel on opening night. It's a pretty nice addition to the strip and I look forward to more opportunities to get some cool photos.

We went by the Ferris wheel at 8 p.m. last night and there were only 3-4 cars occupied with no one waiting in line.

we did the Ferris Wheel this weekend, would I do it again? I dunno ... maybe once more at night, did it this time in the daytime, night might be kind of interesting but at those prices I'm not in any big hurry to do it again. it just doesn't last very long.

I think the afternoon we did it, we were the only people on it, every time we drove by I would look up at it and a lot of times it was empty. so if you are thinking about doing it don't worry about any long lines.

Yep only around $90 bucks an hour. Missouri must be a really high paying state.
