Not a cook!

I am trying a Salisbury steak tonight, but I have never touched raw meat. I am very nervous. But meal planning is my goal this year and my dad gave me some fresh ground beef off the farm for Christmas. Wish me luck!

It went well. Mom even went back for seconds.

Tonight I baked chicken breasts, with an alfredo pasta and asparagus. It tasted fine, even though there were a few mishaps along the way.

Both meals sound good. Even really experienced cooks have mishaps every now and then.

The smoke alarm only went off twice tonight and I accidentally microwaved a metal lid for 6 minutes. Some day I might actually belong in a kitchen, but for now i will keep trying.

Check youtube for videos of "Good Eats" hosted by Alton Brown.
Fun educational, and quite interesting. He not only gives detailed information on cooking, but goes into the science of food preparation.

I really like Phyllis Stokes videos on YouTube

Have you made cabbage steaks?
I am going to try it...when I get a head of cabbage .
After the snow and sleet stop.

So how was it? Pictures? The first time I tried it was a success. I got the recipe from skinnytaste.com. The gravy tasted so nice. I have to do it again.

Steak and red wine are still a great duo.
