My favorite thing at the old Time Out was the pig wings. Pork shanks fried, and finished like buffalo wings.
Well, on our recent trip we spent some time at Branson Landing. While the wife spent time in Kirklin's, I stepped into Smith Creek Distillary. I remember the space when it was under another name. Can't remember for sure, but something like Mssouri Moonshine, or Ozark, or something denoting the area. Anyway at that time I was disappointed that all their whisky had nothing to do with the area. All being distilled in Colorado! Well, the offerings from Smith Creek are all from their own distillery about four miles from Branson. For those of age, just put your ID on the bar where the samples are served, and try a sip of all their many flavors. Two stood out to me. Apple Pie, of course. The original flavored shine. The other being salted caramel. Wow, like a Worther's Original with a kick! Now, to the wings. They have a nice little grill area that serves burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, and such. I noticed a special menu on the counter that said Hog Wings. Being lunch time, I rounded up the wife, and we gave it a try. First, she had a bacon cheeseburger that was obviously a thick, hand pattied, fresh burger. She said it was great. I had to try the Hog Wings, and let me say the name is quite appropriate. Their size being noticeably larger than the pig wings from TO. The flavor matched the size, and I must say they were awesome! Both meals came with some rather unusual fries. Kind of crescent shaped, and thicker than regular fries. There are tables up front, and booth/table combinations along the wall. In addition a full service bar where you can get a beer, or mixed drinks made with some of their flavored shine. Food is ordered at a counter up front, and soft drinks are also available. So even if you don't partake in the products of their main business, you really need to try the grill for a great lunch while visiting the Landing.

They do have good food!!! And the ‘shine is killer!! I am especially fond of their cinnamon moonshine!!! Much smoother than either Hot D*** or Fireball. Mix it with Rumchata for a great Cinnamon Toast Crunch!! Or just throw back a shot or two. Also great in some Dr Pepper!

One of my favorite places to take my first time visitors to Branson....There are still certain states where you cannot buy real mountain 'shine...it always astounds them to place their DL on the bar, and be able to sip till their throats are on fire! And THAT'S a good time, in anyone's book!
