If they have yeast in the dough, and put them in a proofer they will raise!

Not only are they raised, but Ray's has raised the quality of donuts in Branson a lot!
Tried them this afternoon. Really great donuts.

In the strip mall on Gretna road, across from Fairfield Inn and Walgreen's. Next to The Tribute Theater.

Right in the center of things.
Well, from what the nice man there told me they have plans to be on each end of everything!

Quote:
I stopped in this afternoon around 1:30. They still were offering the donut holes. I also got two plain glazed donuts. What better way to judge than with the basics. They were excellent donuts. Although not cooked on site at this time, they were still as fresh as a 1:30 PM donut can be.
I was told they don't cook them on site, but bring them from Springfield fresh every day. Plans are for a second, larger Branson location where they can make the donuts. Maybe somewhere in the downtown area, or at least on the other end of town.
I wish them well, and think they have an excellent product.

DH went by Ray's about 9:15 am on Saturday, 8/24. Not much was left when he got there. He bought 2 cinnamon twists, 1 applespice cake donut, and 1 lemon cake donut. We each had a cinnamon twist and then had half of each donut.

for the cinnamon twist
for the cake donuts

Thanks for the reviews. I'm going to get there! Perhaps tomorrow.

Smile

We were there at 8 am on Saturday and they were about sold out of goodies. Went this morning at 6:30 and got a better selection. Employee said they underestimated Saturday's crowd and brought more down from Springfield later that morning. Very good food; I especially liked the Twists!

I'd all but forgotten about this, but a couple months ago when returning from a doctor appointment along Olive Road, west of I-270 in St. Louis, I caught a glimpse of a "Ray's Donuts" there, on the south side of the road, I believe. Didn't know we had Ray's in St. Louis, but turns out we have 2-3 of them. I've never tried them.
