That Amazing Boat Parade

In case you missed it, the link is to the KOLR coverage of yesterdays boat parade. It is said that a record may have been set, but that has not been conformed. Record or not, that was one awesome event.

News story about the Parade

“ 1,500 Boats Parade on Table Rock Lake for Trump”
September 8, 2020

Boaters from around the midwest came to Table Rock Lake on Saturday for a parade to show support for President Donald Trump.

The “Keep America Great” boat parade began near the Kimberling City bridge and proceeded across the lake. Organizers estimate 1,500 boats took part at some point in the parade.

The grand marshall for the parade was Congressman Billy Long, who posted photos on social media of the event.

“MO-7 stands strong for Trump!” Long posted with the photos.

Organizers worked with the Missouri State Water Patrol to monitor the event. Only one boat had an issue with being swamped during the event, but it did not sink, and no one was hurt.

Business owners around the lake said they experienced one of their best sales days of the year, with more boats on the lake than during the Fourth of July weekend.”

Meanwhile, the wonderful St. Louis Post Dispatch, despite there being many St. Louis boat owners in the huge parade, completely ignored it in favor of coverage and pictures of a similar-themed parade on a lake in Oklahoma where several boats were swamped.
