Lots of choices

Living here we have tried almost all of them and can narrow them down to these 2.

Billy Gails on 265 and the Indian Point Restaurant at the end of Indian Point. Assuming you are here for more than 1 day you can try them both out and make your own decision.

Of the 2, IPR is our choice. Food is just off the wall fantastic.

Is the restaurant at Indian Point open regular hours? Seems like the few times we've thought we'd head that direction we've found it closed. Is it seasonal, always closed on a particular morning, or does it open at 10am???

Look forward to checking it out!

Definitely seasonal.

Right now they are open from 7 to 2 p.m. and then again from 5 until 10 p.m. 7 days a week.

Later on in the year they will cut back to Wed - Sun.

Best way to find out is to call them at 417 338 3366

Without doubt one of the best is Farm House downtown. Their B&G is to die for!

Hunters Friend, when you say "at the end of Indian Point," you mean the one across from the Corps campground, don't you, on the east side? I've been past it several times, but still don't remember the name. Are you saying Indian Point Restaurant is its name? If I'm thinking of the right place, it has a little outdoor eating area. Due to your recommendation, I want to be sure and go there.

Right on the very tip of IP is the floating cafe. I liked that one in the past. Is it still open, and is the food okay? Thanks.

Yep, that is the one.

And yes, the floating cafe is also open. (They were just featured in a great newspaper article about best places to eat, so they must be good)

Thanks, Hunters Friend. Now I want to try both. Waiting until the 4th is over due to the traffic. Since we live in the area, we can do that. Love Indian Point!!! Been by your place many times.
