Just north of San Antonio - saw it at 2.59/9 - husband said that was .10 less than he saw it in San Antonio... that's unusual - usually it's a few cents higher up here.. it will be interesting to see how much he sees it for "in town" on Monday.

Beginning of the week diesel fuel was over 3 bucks in Joplin, as hubby looked for the cheapest buy..........Flying J was $3.11.9 I think.

Does this reflect the cost of home heating diesel type fuel?

Do you know there are some Independant trucking organizations, that are hauling by the mile for less than the cost of the fuel just to hold down accounts.

Putting it on credit cards............do you think they will max out all those cards before it goes down enough for them to ''make'' any profits? Seems pretty risky to me............I won't go more than the 30 day pay off on corp cards.........can you imagine the hole one could get into ? And, what I think, some don't seem to realize is, it isn't nearly as easy to opt out by bankruptcy anymore.

Risky business.

Just some info I've heard in person and have read in trucking email updates, I get...........scarey!!!!

I don't want to say it too loud, but in some places in the KC area is low as $2.14. We paid $2.16 last night.

Just paid $2.29 this morning in Conway, AR. It went down about 3 or 4 cents overnight. I hope the price dropping just continues...

I paid 2.06 Sunday. someone told me they found 1.98 over the weekend.

What's going on with Diesel? Been hearing reports of trouble with motors because it wasn't mixed properly, shortages, and very quick jumps in prices, as much as 3.50 - 3.60 in places

Diesel..........what a crock, in my book........in my check book.

But, the Truckinfarmer got a 100 gals yesterday in Alabama for under 3 bucks.
He is going through the corner of Georgia right now...into Tennessee...looking for prices to go down as he gets further away from the Hurricane Katrina devistation.

Then he will head across Tennessee/Arkansas/Texas/ up into Oklahoma...eventually getting to Joplin.............he is going to see who is doing what to who, and where..........

He said...he didnt care what anyone said, there is goughing going on and its plenty evident..............the public officials in charge are blind as bats.

And....this price is not just evident in my trucking finances, it's going to be evident in everything we buy as consumers in any kind of store............and when GAS AND DIESEL prices go down, will the prices in the stores go down to justify the decrease in cost?

This is a stinky game of chess where the consumer is the pawn.

The Truckinfarmer found diesel going down today...down to $2.75 in places....he is heading off between Nashville and Memphis right now....hoping to see something lower in Arkansas....

He said he is buying only 80 gals at a time...that will usually get him to another price range..........sometimes higher but sometimes lower....

It just takes time off his HOS to stop so much............but ya gotta do what ya gotta do..........................

Gas in Springfield today $2.09 -

Diesel was still over $3 when I noticed last week - I'm praying it starts to drop soon - because whether we want to acknowledge it or not, diesel prices staying up WILL affect our pocketbooks just like gas prices - sugar, lettuce and Thanksgiving Turkey prices will just keep going up if surcharges for fuel keep being added for shipping.
