Question Best time of year

When is the best time of year to come to Branson?
We were thinking of the 1st week in June next year. Could you tell me when your school is out and if the first week of June is too hot.
Would April or May be better? Thanks for you info.

Most Missouri Schools are out the last part of May.
June Weather in Missouri is still not too hot.
Most of the Branson Shows are open during April and May.

Another great time to be in Branson is after school begins. September through December is better weather, usually. The Christmas season starts about Nov. 1 and is wonderful there.

I've been early in the season (March-April), Summer (June-August), Fall (September-October) and Christmas (November). Spring is nice because everyone is still in school and there is lots of openings and little traffic so you can get anywhere at any time without much trouble. Summer - June is nice, July is a little hotter, and August is horribly hot. June and early July is nice because you still have some pretty good days during the week where Traffic isn't too bad. We were there this year over 4th of July and that week and really didn't run into much traffic at all. I used to go in September with my folks so I could take my Mom to the Craft Festival at SDC. And usually it wasn't too bad during the week. Weekends were a little rougher because of families coming down for the same reason and then the Bus Tours started coming in and it got a little busier. We've been coming down in November ever since they started Ozark Mountain Christmas. For years came down Thanksgiving Weekend (Bass Pro Shops is open on Thanksgiving - just an FYI) and would go to SDC on Friday after. Saturday they are packed so much that it wasn't easy to move around. Then we started going down earlier in the month. The last few years we've gone down over Veterans Day Weekend (or making a long weekend if the holiday doesn't cooperate) and the girls go for a shopping weekend while the guys go Deer Hunting. I know this year it will be busy because Veteran's Day is on a Friday, but that is OK. It won't stop us. We have enough backroads now that we can get anywhere we want in pretty good time. So it really depends on when you want to go down. With all the side routes, it really is easier to get anywhere you want in pretty good time.

My favorite times to go to Branson are April/May, mid-September/October, and late November/early December. Plus, I always avoid weekends.... that really help with the crowds especially at Silver Dollar City.

My favorite time to go to Branson is Mid-to-late fall. In my opinion, the Ozarks in Autumn is the most beautiful place in the world. The Drive from here is all through the mountains and it's absolutely gorgeous. The weather is great, cause it's not hot, but it's not freezing either. Also, who can forget the American Music and Craftsmanship Festival at SDC.

Question I Need a Little Help With When To Go As Well

My husband and I are going to go for a few days we were thinking of September but November might be nice. We will more than likely have to go on a weekend so my parents wont have to get the kids off to school. How is the weather in November? I am from East Texas so a little cooler weather would be nice but I dont want to come when I wont be able to get out and explore.

Give your opinions on when you think might be a better month. We will be seeing one show and then sight seeing and shopping.

Thank you

Pack for both cold and cool. Layer your clothes. Usually it is very nice (upper 50's/lower 60's and sometimes even lower 70's in the day), but remember it can be very cold at night especially down by the water. You might want a heavier jacket/sweater for those times. Keep an eye on the Weather Channel or Accuweather websites. I always do.

Best time for trip to Branson

I usually come the middle of April, have been there in June, July, Sept, and December. December is pushing it a little. Some things may close up while you in the establishment. We are going this year the end of Oct and first part of Nov. Will be staying at Westgate resorts (emerald point) on the lake, so I am hoping that it won't be too cold Has anyone stayed there before? signing off - charonthego

We always go the first week of October and love it. Not cold yet and not too hot. Just perfect!

I've been to Branson the first week of June and we about froze the first couple days! That was an unusual year though. I found the crowds were light and I highly recommend that week, especially if you avoid the weekends. This year we went mid-June midweek and it was still not too crowded & not too hot (but nice enough for a dip in the pool).

Have a great trip!

My husband and I always go the first week of May and the week after Labor day in Sept. It is not crowded at all during the week and we leave before the weekend. We usually stay Monday through Thursday or Friday morning. SDC is not crowded and most of the rides you can stay on and ride again. Not much traffic, although it gets a little busier when the shows are taking and letting out. We like to go when most kids are still in school and it isn't too hot. We don't like crowds. I think this year we'll also go a couple days towards the beginning of December when the kids are back at school between Thanksgiving and Christmas break. Not that we don't like kids, in fact we are working on starting a family ourselves, we just know when the kids are out of school, that means more people in Branson.
We went one year in August, and went right back home due to the crowds. LOL
