Grand Country Presents Branson Country USA

Branson Country USA - January 31, 2014

This week we host a double-header with guests... From Legends In Concert and ELVIS LIVES, Dean Z, as Elvis; and from Springfield, local gospel favorites, The Waymakers.

Dean Z has been a fixture in the Branson Entertainment scene for a number of years portraying Elvis as a part of Legends In Concert.

Last August, Dean won the prestigious "Ultimate Elvis" contest in Memphis. This notoriety caught the attention of the producers of the ELVIS LIVES production.

ELVIS LIVES is a touring show which continues to capture the imaginations and interests of fans of all types including Broadway, concert and Elvis aficionados. It is an unforgettable multi-media and live musical journey across Elvis' life. Featuring finalists from EPE's (Elvis Presley Enterprises) annual worldwide "Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest", each artist represents Elvis during different stages in his career.

Dean Z joined this incredible tour in January and has been traveling all over the United States. The next stop for the tour.... BRANSON! ELVIS LIVES will be performing at the Dick Clark American Bandstand Theatre February 7 - 18. For tickets and information, please call their Box Office at 417-339-3003.

The Waymakers are a local gospel group with a long history in the musical roots of the Ozarks. Before the bright lights of Branson were even thought of, Springfield, Missouri, was the hub of music in the United States. Several nationwide radio and television shows originated out of Springfield.

Founded in 1958, The Waymakers were a group of Spokane, Missouri young people who began singing together in church. Their God-given harmony was so natural and so smooth, they began performing in neighboring churches. Their great harmonies soon got them performances far beyond Christian and Taney County. They continued singing together until 1962.

During their time together, they donated their time and talents to promote and support the Good Samaritan Boys Ranch. The ranch was located north of Springfield in the little town of Brighton. The Waymakers and local singer, Stan Hitchcock, agreed to prepare a single recording and a long play album which would be used as a fundraiser for the Boys Ranch.

We're excited to have them on Branson Country USA and they will have five of the original eight members singing with them.
