Question Branson Scenic Railroad

Does anyone have any info on this attraction? I tried their website to find information about the menu for their dinner train, but couldn't find anything. I email them twice but no answer. I also wanted to know if the Polar Express was appropriate for small children. (Would it entertain them?) Any opinions/information would be helpful.

We went on the Scenic Railroad a couple weeks ago when they had area appreciation...our first time on it. It was pleasantly enjoyable...you choose your seat...they have 2 observation cars with the raised/glassed windows, and those seats filled up first. There is a diner car where you can buy snacks/drinks for the trip. You don't know until just before you pull out whether you are going the north or south route, since they use a working railroad track and it depends on when the "real" trains are scheduled to come down the tracks. We got to go the southern route down into Arkansas, which the folks who work on the train say is the more scenic route. Went through a couple of long tunnels on the trip, which was kinda neat. They have a narrator to tell you about the train and some history and what you are seeing as you pass by. In between, they play '40's music, big band style, which adds to the atmosphere. (Yes, Chattanooga Choo-Choo is one of the songs they play!) You can get up and walk around and look at the other cars...each one is unique. The ride lasts about 1 hour and 45 minutes.

We didn't do the dinner train, as it is very pricey at $69/person, with no local discounts. They told us about the Polar Express, and that it is especially geared for kids (who often come dressed in their pajamas for the ride)...they decorate the train with lights, etc. for that and they said it sells out very quickly because of its popularity, so if you are interested in that, you might go on and make reservations. All in all, we enjoyed the trip and would probably do it again (if they ever do area appreciation again!)

We took our boys on the Polar Express ride a few years back. They loved it. (we did not eat dinner on the train) But they have the bum sitting on top of the train when you are loading. They are all dressed up, and one person per car that carried the polar express book up & down the aisle while the story was being told. Then Santa came through & was very friendly. Took pictures when asked and talked to the kids. The bum came through also & same was friendly & took pictures also. They served cookies & hot chocolate & the guy comes through & hole punches the kids initials in their tickets too! It was a great time! But if you have rode the train on a regular day. It does not go the same route. It is a shorter route that it travels.
