Blueberries for Jeep

When you make your trip down Old HWY 66 from St. Louis, when you get to Springfield, check out Andy's custard - they make Blueberry shakes, and Blueberry concretes when Blueberries are available.

My dh is a blueberry fan too! - so is my son, he recently spent a day helping a lady from church move into a new house, and as payment, he accepted a huge bag of frozen blueberries!

Now I know why you are soooo nice to me!

You are trying to butter me up for some blueberries! Paps has two cousins near Lebanon that have a blueberry farm. We get all we want.

Oh boy.....I love blueberries..........LUV THEM.

I remember as a little kid, up north of Virginia Mn......picking blueberries at my Grandma's farm.........ahem.....and when we got back to the house, where Granny was baking Blue Berry Pies, there was a big bear in the porch, leaning on the screen door, waiting for the pies to bake...........my Grandfather snatched us up and put us kids in the chicken house....as he went for his gun.....but Grandma had already shushed the bear out with her big broom.....she was 4' 11" tall......and the bears were definitely not her match........hehehe.........I think of this everytime I have fresh blueberries.......))))))))))))))))

I visited the original "gas station" in Burlington Vt where Ben and Jerry first got started and had the flavor "Maine Blueberry". It is only served there since the flavor decays when it is frozen and stored. Blueberry flavoring has to be fresh. I got there late on a Sunday night, one minute before closing, and got my Blueberry shake. It was probably the highlight of my life (my honeymoon was #2), and the birth of the kids was probably #3-4. When you meet my wife in Nov. please don't tell her this or I will be in big trouble.

Is blueberry attraction a male thing? GGH mentioned her husband and son are also inclined. Is there something between testoserone and blueberries? An aphrodisiac? Come to think of it, my blueberry fantasies started about the age of puberty. And it only got worse when Fats Domino had that big hit. Any shrinks out there?

That will be another $100 consultation fee, plus 30% of sales up to 100 blueberry shakes/year, and 25% on sales over 100 blueberry shakes - oh yeah, I will find the supplier, and I will buy them from them at wholesale, and resale them to you at retail price... you pay the shipping cost.

But it's still a good deal, for blueberries!

I will meet you at the intersection of Sunshine Rd and Highway #65 in Springfield Tuesday night at midnight. Bring the berries and a large shovel. I will be driving a Ford Ranger pickup with personalized plates that read "I Found My Thrill".

Sorry GGH, I tried to get there, I really did.

Left Iowa Tues noon and got to the Mo border by late afternoon. Gassed up and bought some fireworks. We Iowans can't seem to pass up Missouri fireworks. They took my credit card, so I bought a good supply of bottle rockets, roman candles, a big cluster bomb, and a lighted tableau of John Ashcroft standing by an American flag, a fitting finale to the show I figured. Anyway, I put them in the back of the truck under the truck canvas to keep them safe and out of the weather. I headed to Chillicothe and got there just about dusk, still on track to make it to Springfield by midnight.
Everything was looking good as I rolled into town, but a bottle rocket must have rubbed up against the aluminum scoop I had stashed back there (to shovel the blueberries into the truck), and went off! Well pretty soon, a few more, and then a lot more! I didn't know what was going on as I drove through town, but I met a van with Texas plates and packed solid with people, who got distracted by the exploding bottle rockets and swerved out of its lane and right into a Budweiser truck. I looked back in my rear view mirror and saw a whole bunch of people wearing sombreros, running down the street, chasing ricocheting and rolling beer cans. I just kept on going, but the roman candles caught on fire next and were shooting up every which way. Thought I could make it through town but the cluster bomb went off just as I cruised by the police station!!!
Got pulled over by the locals at the city limits and then they were joined by the state troopers just as ole John Ashcroft lit up in all his glory. Everyone stood at attention as the display unfurled, including me who was handcuffed to the bumper of my truck. Everyone just stood there, frozen and at full dress salute, until ole John was done; then they escorted me back to the jail and wouldn't take my credit card. I spent the night in the cell with about a dozen illegals, all smelling heavily of beer (everyone knows not to pop a warm can of beer, especially if its just been riled up and in head-on collision) who sang Mexican folks songs, very poorly, all night long. It was a long night indeed.
My wife wired the bail the next morning and they let me go, but I knew it was too late to meet you, so I headed back to Iowa. Sorry! How about Labor Day?

I was wondering where you were - I sat and waited along side of the road until 3am, at which time, I started getting hungry, so I started eating blueberries, a handful at a time... finally about 5 am, I realized I'd been stiffed, and was beginning to have some BAD affects, from eating so many blueberries, so I hurried home to dh and Champ. Dh has already stuffed the remaining blueberries into bottles, he's going to make blueberry wine with your blueberries.
