Yakov's picture

I am not able to watch a lot of the memorial today. I don't want my granddaugther seeing it. But I am sure when I turned it on for a little while the huge picture at the top of the ramp is the one that was in the lobby of Yakov's theater when we were there a few weeks ago. It was his feelings that he painted after the 9-11 tradegy. Did anyone else see it at his theater? And is that a copy of it?

That painting is awesome!
I was not aware that Yakov was an artist!

I'm not clear on this...Did Yakov really paint the original picture?

Well, when you look at it on the link that was provided, it has his signature on it as if he did. I understood that he did.

That's what I thought, but when I mentioned it today at lunch...everyone was sure he was just displaying the picture in his lobby..not that he painted it.
I just wanted my Buddies to tell me for sure.

Thank you for doing that, BransonCutie

Thumbs up Yakov's Painting

Yes, Yakov painted "America's Heart" immediately after the terrorist attacks. The banner you saw at Ground Zero -- Yakov had that produced, then the local steel workers union in New York donated the labor to install the banner on the building. It was his gift to New York City -- this is where he was sworn in as an American citizen and you can read more about his thoughts on the terrorist attacks on his web site (www.yakov.com) under About Yakov and then follow the buttons to News. Thanks so much for the facts, Iva and Cindy.

We are taking the Nursing Home Residents to see Yakov Oct 3, so I want to ba able to let them know all about his paintings, especially the one near Ground Zero.
