Thanksgiving Day

We are planning to go to Branson for Thanksgiving. It has been many years since we have been in town during this week. Can anyone tell me what it will be like Thanksgiving day. Will there be any stores or attractions open? Also does anyone know what shows will be open? I've seen in other threads that there are places to get a traditional Thanksgiving meal...not sure yet if we will go for the traditional meal or opt for some good ole Steak N Shake! We are starting to get really excited, so any help would be very much appreciated!! Thanks in advance!

I think you'll find most attractions open, and most shows running, but very few stores. We were there last year. We ate a big breakfast at IHOP, swam in our hotel pool, saw Dixie Stampede and followed that with Hamner-Barber. We may have seen a movie at the Imax that day, too. Traffic was not horrible (as compared to the next day, which was unbelievable), but it was definitely starting to get busy. I think as long as you don't plan to spend the day shopping, you'll be fine.

noticed several smaller shops were open, things like craft malls were open but the bigger malls were closed.

most of the restaurants are open

silver dollar city is open but opens later that day

some of the shows close, so those that are open fill up... might want to make advance reservations
