REVIEW: Silver Dollar City - World Fest Review
This past Saturday may family and I went to SDC's World Fest. This was the first time that we've been this season. We wanted to check everything out to see what's new. We checked out the new ride "Powder Keg". The wait for the ride was over 2 hours long. While I didn't ride it this time, I did go and watch as they were being "launched". It goes really fast! The building itself is very entertaining, the roof of the ride looks as if one of the cars crashed into it, and fire shoots out of the building. None of us knew what to expect and we were walking along and all of a sudden fire shot out and my mom screamed! It was pretty funny!! I can't wait to ride this ride for myself.
We didn't go in to see any of the visiting groups while at Silver Dollar City this time but we did get to hear some of them as we were passing by. We did go and try some of the cultural food for lunch. We all had something different so we could try each others and EVERYONE had good food. I am now a new fan of Reuben sandwiches. My mother ordered this along with German potato salad that was hot and it was delicious as well. We even made Reubans the following night for dinner. SDC was PACKED on Saturday, people were everywhere enjoying the beautiful day. This was the first pretty weekend we've had in a while and everyone was out enjoying it. We stayed until the park closed to check out the African Safari Circus in Echo Hollow (this is the show they have going on just for World Fest). I saw the show last year and some of it was the same but there were a few things that were different. There was a "fire eater" this time that I didn't remember from last year. Also, last year they did tricks on a pole, they had the pole there but they didn't use it Saturday night. This show had a HUGE attendance. If you get the chance to go to World Fest at SDC make sure and do it, you will not only come away from it with an appreciation for other cultures but you will have an even greater love for the good old United States of America. ![]() ![]() Last edited by Jerm; 05-16-2005 at 10:51 PM. |

Thanks for the review Jerm. We didn't make it to World Fest this year, so it was nice to hear all about it.
