Question Lake Tanyecomo vs. Tablerock Lake

My husband & I would like to stay at a cabin on the lake. We will be going in September. If it's not too cool we would like to rent a jetski. Is Lake Taneycomo or Tablerock Lake better? I haven't been to either.

If you are going to do a jetski -- Table Rock is what you want. Taneycomo is cold all year as it comes off of the bottom of Table Rock. If I remember correctly, at downtown Branson the water temperature was 42 degrees in the hotest part of summer. And I was just crazy enough in the summer that I swam in that water at the downtown campgrounds. Came out a little cold, but didn't care. Heck when you are young, cold doesn't bother you -- you are indescructable.

Hope this helps.

We were just there the last week of June....someone correct me if i'm wrong but I don't think Table Rock Marina rents jet skis....we rented a boat from there and took our daughter "tubing" though ! I know for a fact that State Park Marina DOES rent jet-skis.

State Park Marina and Table Rock Marina at Indian Point both rent wave runners.

You can jet ski on Taneycomo! The lower end of the lake near Rockaway Beach and Powersite is warm. Warm enough to hold largemouth bass, crappie and such.
If you are going to jet ski in the upper part of the lake, either wear a wet suit or dont fall off!

Unless you want to be crazy like I was growing up and swimming in the lake by Downtown Branson. Have to admit though, after walking SDC all day in the hot summer months, just sticking your feet in that cold water did feel pretty good!
