I think they are looking at TIF funding......heard that before. However, I do like aquariums and I think that would be a great asset to the community and tourism as a whole. Hopefully it will all get worked out and I can take my grandkids to another great aquarium attraction.

That would be a great use for such an excellent location. I’m looking forward to seeing how all this develops.

Here is a link to an article about the aquarium. I can't say I'm a fan of what the aquarium is going to look like if it does end up looking like the photo at the link. Too garish!

Branson's Grand Palace Proposed to be home of a New Aquarium

BRANSON, Mo- One of Branson's oldest properties has been proposed to be the home of a new attraction.

On Thursday it was announced that the Grand Palace has been proposed to be the new home of an aquarium.

you know when I read aquarium I thought cool sounds like fun, then looked at the art work and kind of had the same reaction ... too much something, overdone.. garish .. something just didn't appeal to me.

Well, maybe they are trying a little different angle. After all there is a huge aquarium up the road in Springfield by Bass Pro, which would be hard to compete against. Before it gets knocked, more details needs to come out on the final proposal.

Looks like an awesome addition to Branson. A lot of modern decor with a hint of Jules Verne. Something to bring younger people to Branson that have no interest in a lot of the shows. But once in Branson may see that there is much more than the stereotype they have had in their mind.
A much needed addition well worth whatever tax incentive they get.

I seem to recall back when Celebration City closed, there was a group that proposed to build an aquarium across the street. Never happened, but I wonder if this is the same group.

Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies in Gatlinburg, TN.
I doubt their financial future in the near to mid range is going to include a big fish tank.
