Floods, Weathermen, and Hip Waders

Watching the coverage this morning of the Memphis floods, seeing the trash in the water, sludge, and thinking this looks like disease waiting to happen, and wondering.... what does it prove to stick a weatherman in waders and make him give his weather report with water up to his armpits?

I think I can look at the house behind him with water to the roof and figure out it's bad. Every channel I flipped to this morning had the samething going on.

Imo...there is nothing intelligent about a person standing in filthy flood waters, saying......."Don't do this @ home, kids".....

Did anyone else see the Weather Channel ditz slip & fall into the water while broadcasting on Sunday a.m.? She jumped right back up & started yattering & they cut back to the studio....... Never saw it again. I think her name was Martin(?)

I hoped that the video would get onto YouTube, but haven't searched for it.

I noticed-- one day one of the morning weathermen was standing with knee high boots and water was to his ankles

the next day he had hipwaders and it was to his knees.

today he had waders that came to his arm pits and water was up to his chest.

tomorrow I expect to see only his nose and eye's above water.

And on the evening news last night, they were reporting about the water mocassins in the water in Memphis. While Dian Sawyer was standing in the water 'reporting', a boat was close by chasing the snakes away from her. Now that's just plain crazy!

YES it is just plain crazy! Newsmen were telling this morning about all the snakes & varmints in the water. They must make a lot of $'s to even get
in the water in waders!

In media it's all about the fear.

Wonder what Al Roker would have done IF a snake had come crawling
up beside him! I'm about to fall off this chair just thinking about it!
