Belk will open April 2006

Belk is advertising to fill positions in the Branson Daily News.
"Apply for now to begin work late February."

Think it's an upscale (to me) department store, from clothes to small appliances.

I love shopping at Belk. I cannot wait til it opens and I get there. I go to the one close to here as often as I can.

Sure as hell beats the crap stores we have in town now. I used to shop at Belk all the time when I was stationed in Beaufort SC. I dont think they are over rated at all. Overpriced...yeah. But right now, beggers cant be choosers and Branson is begging for some decent clothing stores.

We have a Belk where I live, and it is a very popular store. I am pleased that Branson is getting some non-"discount" stores finally! And, Target will be a welcome addition.

We also have a Belk Department store where I live. The prices are a little high, but the quality is good too. They always have a sale rack, and that's where I find lots of bargains. I think Branson will definately love their new Belk's.

I'm looking forward to Belk coming to town - Branson has more than enough t-shirt shops, and dime store type stores - having a handful of higher end department stores will be a welcome addition.

I love shopping, the more stores the merrier. Yeah, I always find great things at Belk at the clearance rack. I also still love the outlet malls though. I will continue to shop there too. I am so ready to go, I wish I could go to Branson now,

I drove along the edges of Branson Landing construction yesterday, which was quite painful because of all of the destruction required for their construction. In my eyes, it's simply destruction, but that's another story...

Drove up to where it dead-ends where Belk is located. Had no choice but to drive in (a little bit) past where it said, "No Trespassing" so I could turn around. Just from being in there a tiny bit, I could see that the outer shell of the Belk building looks nearly completed. The big Belk emblem is already on over the front doors.

Poor little inn that's still standing next to all of this has cones in front of its driveway and a sign that says, "This is not a turn-around." Guess they get a lot of gawkers looking (like me) and then they end up blocking their drive while turning around.

Wonder if that little inn will stay or get demolished too.

Breaks my heart to see what they've done down there.
