Don't you just love having 4 seasons all in one week instead of having to wait all year for them to change.

Southern Ark and La are in the bullseye today, SPC has about as high of a tornado threat for that area as I've seen so far this spring. looking at the chaser map and they are gathering right now in eastern Texas and moving east it looks like.

and as a side note the Ozarks area may want to keep an eye open for next week, the 4 day outlook from the SPC is showing a chance of severe weather on Wednesday, normally the spc doesn't go out on that 4 day limb unless they think something might be brewing.

Around here the redbuds are about done but the dogwoods are going strong, great blooms this year. Many other blooming trees are looking good. Has really been a beautiful spring.

In regards to weather, last Thursday we got more rain in one day that we received the entire month of March, and it seemed like it rained fairly often in March. It has also been strange this month having days that start in the mid 30s and end up in the mid 80s in the afternoon.

I know it's a week out, but reading a forum of storm chasers and they are just plumb giddy over the chances of severe weather across the plains regions starting next Tuesday and going thru the following weekend. some of them are giving it another day or two to see what it looks like then planning to put in for vacation time .. or as they call it chasecation.

what a confusing forecast for today.. there will be tornadoes,,,, no there won't,,, well maybe there will be.....

changes almost every couple hours it seems like but right now sounds like the worst will be in eastern Ok, SE Kansas, and southwest Mo. the SPC has the tornado threat at 10% for those area's... at least for now, it may change in a little bit but for now that's where it is.

The latest I have heard for the KC area is that we could have strong wind, hail and possible tornado activity this afternoon. Rain is supposed to continue through most of the week but the severe weather should become less an issue after tomorrow.

Stay safe everyone.

looks more like it should snow here than it does storm, there are some strong storms off to the west right now but here it's 48 degrees, north winds and an ugly mist/drizzle.

Tornado Warning for Kimberling City heading toward Silver Dollar City now.
SDC is closed today and all employees are in Shelter.
Marvel Cave might prove to be a natural shelter.

Chateau on the Lake has witnessed a funnel cloud.

Tornado Warning for Taney County until 7:00pm.

TORNADO WATCH: A Tornado Watch has been issued for Southwest Missouri and Northwest Arkansas until 11pm. The threat for severe storms will be increasing this afternoon. Tornadoes, large hail and damaging winds are all possible. Flash flooding is a possibility too.
