Empty Theaters OR Soon To Be Empty

What are the current rumors about the theater behind The Olive Garden (Yakov's former theater)? The Ray Stevens Theater? When we have been in Branson this fall, we have always seen several cars at Yakov's former theater, but the landscaping is in REALLY bad shape. Wonder what's going on there...........

The producer that brought the Follies show to Branson was in negotiations for the old Yakov theatre behind Olive Garden but that fell through. I don't know who is currently looking at the theatre.

The cars you see there are Festiva employees - as they have little to no parking in that little mall.

The Ray Stevens theatre was supposedly purchased by the people that brought David Copperfield to Andy's theatre this past year. I don't know the names, but there have been some past threads with more information or rumors . . .

Thanks for the information. That explains why the landscaping looks so ragged.

I hear you can rent the place for $650,000 a year, plus taxes and utilities. Some say it has been stripped of almost all equipment that was any good and needs lots of work. Guess it could be considered a "fixer uper" for someone with nothing to do on weekends and a couple extra dollars. Shoot, fix it up a little, add the cost of getting ready for a show and you could have a million dollars in it before you even sold a ticket. I didn't realize show business could be so much fun.

No one ever said show business was inexpensive.
