Branson Country USA - September 13, 2019

This week we welcome, from Legends In Concert, Stacy Whitton-Summers as Marilyn Monroe!

Stacey Whitton Summers is a singer/songwriter and actress that hails from Reno, NV. She comes from a musical family of eight and has been entertaining audiences since age 7.
Classically trained in voice as a child but predominantly studied saxophone, she started touring regionally with a classical quintet at age 12. While studying Opera and Theater throughout her university years it was there she realized her love for musical comedy. After being cast in her first lead role in a musical comedy called "Starburst" at the Flamingo Hilton in 1991 she then toured for a year with an a cappella group. She had a tough time choosing between acting and singing so accepting the role of "Marilyn Monroe" for Legends in Concert in 1994 seemed like a great blend of both worlds. Since then she has used her talents in makeup /wig & costume design, comedy, and voice to recreate other characters for the stage and TV.
For more than a decade Stacey has been performing for "Legends in Concert" meticulously recreating superstars such as Marilyn Monroe, Shania Twain, Madonna, Gretchen Wilson, Martina McBride, along with her most recent addition of Pat Benatar. She has starred in the television shows "The Next Best Thing, MTV's "Taquita and Kaui", "Country's most Shocking" on E! Television, as well as, appearing as a featured artist on numerous TV shows. She has shared the stage with original greats like Dolly Parton and Dom Deluise. Shania Twain herself paid a visit to the Las Vegas Strip to see Stacey perform in 2000.
Stacey is a seasoned pro in many genres of music and has released 4 of her own CDs. When she's not on the stage performing as one of her many characters you'll find her singing her own original music. Her most recent CD called "Good Thing Goin' On" was co -written with Rock Legend, Delaney Bramlett. Costume design is another one of her creative passions which has led to her most recent endeavor, her own vintage style accessory line, "Whitton De Fleur Designs.com."
During her teens she began entering beauty pageants and talent contests. It was here that many people began comparing her appearance to Marilyn Monroe. "My interest in re-creating Marilyn grew and I watched as many of her films as I could. I wanted to pick up on all her qualities and nuances," Stacey admitted. "My cousin suggested that I audition for the role of Marilyn in Legends in Concert. I thought it was a good idea and that it might be fun."
It is indeed great fun for Stacey to portray her idol to appreciative audiences in nightly performances of Legends in Concert. She especially enjoys watching the sparks fly as she makes her way into the audience to greet her admiring fans - especially the males!

Legends in Concert is located along the famous 76 Strip and has been a part of the Branson entertainment scene over two decades. Two power-packed hours of fabulous entertainment awaits you!
