The Pride of Oklahoma....

has a new Texas trumpet player!!!! We've been in Norman all week for band auditions and movin' my boy in. How nice to move in early before the rains came! He auditioned on Tuesday and Wednesday and was sworn in as a contracted cadet in the AF ROTC...so proud of him..we left him there yesterday afternoon and now mom and dad are home alone, plotting our next trip to OU Thought I'd share some pics

Congratulations of such momentous week! We have friends who moved their daughter to Mizzou last week end. Also a freshman, and a member of Marching Mizzou! Thanks for sharing the pics!

Congratulations to all of you. You certainly have a right to be proud of him.

Know you are already planning that next trip. Someone said yesterday in a post that planning a trip was as much fun as the trip. I agree. As much as we drive back and forth to Branson, I still plan the trips. We are flexible enough so that when we get there, we can, and often do, change some of the plans. We find we can fit in more things if we plan a little. I like organized things--am not much of a spur-of-the-moment person unless there just isn't time to plan ahead.

Have fun planning your next trip and then have fun once you are there.

Thumbs up

Yayyyyyyyyyyy and congratulations.

I remember a ''trumpet'' player in my family way back in the 80s, went to Ft. Leonard Wood Army Base to audition for the Army.
Yayyyyyyy he made it, and we were so happy, cause that was my idea of a ''safe'' Military Career.

He went to the 6 months of Music Schooling at Norfolk Naval Air.......and was placed in a slot...but he was not the actual trumpet player, he was understudy(or something) til that Trumpet player quit..retired.

He was so disillusioned, he switched MOS and went into Computerized Tanks, or something and has been ever since......in some kind of ''gun'' stuff.

Oh me...had to tell the story, of the trumpeter in my family who takes that horn with him to battle......or his civilian job...and jams every chance he gets.

I hope your trumpet player loves his horn for the rest of his life......its a wonderful talent, that can blow that horn in cold weather on a football field.......

And for you the parent, who withstood the sound of trumpet practice all these years........and still maintaining your hearing.yayyyy!

God Bless!! the Trumpet Player !!
