Lennon Brothers

Got lucky and caught the Lennon Brothers and Gail Lennon in a fabulous swing/big band performance saturday night at the Owens Theater in downtown "old" Branson. Wow! After so many years of not performing, what an awesome show! The old theater was packed, every one of us loving that classic, upbeat swing music and vocals of.this group. Hopefully, it wont be another 14 years before they have another show, as it was this time. Absolutely superb performance by them and their live 6 piece swing band.

You did get lucky! Good to hear that they are still making great music and bringing Swing to Branson.
I think the last time I saw them (thinking way back, so I hope I am correct in this) was when The Lennon Brothers and Gail performed with Mickey Rooney in Branson.
And yes, one is always so glad to have seen and heard them!

I am (or thought I was, anyway!) very familiar with most songs of that era, however, they did a really fun song involving a skit with "football players", with the Lennon Brothers donning old time college sports "Letter Sweaters", and tossing a football back and forth during the performance. I enjoyed that song, but have no clue what is is called...anyone know?

Their version of "I'll Be Home For Christmas" was the best and most moving I have ever heard. Also enjoyed very much their "On a Wing and a Prayer"...in short, there was just one great hit after another....

This makes me want to see that movie about Branson again that featured The Lennons.
