Tony Orlando

Saw Tony Orlando last night, at The Mansion.

His show is 1hr 30mins without an intermission. He sang "Mary Did You Know" whilst reading the words from a Sheet in front of him, which left my Group talking about it on the way back to our Hotel

The "Santa Interaction" was a bit too long as well.

Yeah, I was surprised he was using the lyric she’s for “Mary Did You Know”. I’ll have to ask my friend - he was Jesus - if that’s a new addition to the show. And yes, they could lose some of the Santa stuff and I woukdn’t Be insulted. But someone somewhere must like it because they keep gettin invites back to the same venues year after year. Which is actually why the show is the length it is. Casinos only want 90 minutes max. And since that is the venue type they most frequently play these days, that is the audience they have tailored the show for.

Thanks for the comments.

I have liked Tony's Show in the past. Just wasn't into it, this year.

I hope he changes things around a bit.

Sad to see the empty lots on The Strip.

Yes, Randy Brooks, who played Jesus in the original production of "The Promise" here in town for 7 years was in town to play Jesus in Tony Orlando's show. Tony added him to the show a few years ago when he booked a run in Bethlehem, PA. It went over so well that he has Randy in the show pretty much every where they do the Christmas show now.
