Branson any reports, updates, anything??

so it's the Winter slow season, what's the nickname for it the hiatus, there prob won't be many trip reports coming in for awhile but how about anyone that is just out driving around, or passing thru giving us out of towners who are curious what is going on some progress reports on construction like the aquarium or the upside down science museum... or anything else that is going on around town?

Well, the so called "extended stay" shanty hotels are throwing a BIG fit about having to obtain a legit Business License, and pass a County Fire Inspection, and a City Building Code inspection...seems as if, for some reason unknown to me, they have (never?) not had to obtain such things in the past, so for many years they just "skated" along....and they do not like this "new" requirement...or more accurately, the ENFORCEMENT of these long standing requirements for any business located within Branson city limits....

Updates anything??
How bout shopping?? First time at Aldis..this week. Don't know that much about grocery shopping, but did see some good deals. One of the most efficient check out persons I have ever seen. Bought a bottle of orange juice, and talk about a good deal, it came with "pulp FREE".
Also checked out Bed Bath and Beyond. Big sale and big crowd. I asked the manager if they were going to be closing like many other BBBYs. Nope staying open. A good thing. Not so good --Pier One at Branson Hills will be closing soon. The sale starts soon. Bummer.
Besides that, it has been a good week in the office.

Was in Branson and Springfield Thursday afternoon/evening. Had planned on spending the night in Branson Thursday night but due to the forecast of ice, we changed our plans. We didn't drive down the strip so I have no news about the aquarium, etc.

We noticed the Natural Wonders store (better for you grocery store/health needs) on 248 is looking closer to completion -- sign up, etc. Noticed that the lots next to it are being prepared for development. Tequila's 2 new location also looks close to being completed. There are some good deals at the VF Outlet. Closing time for January and February is 6 pm.

The marquee at Shoji's says "See you in 2020". The Johnson Strings banner is gone from the old Majestic but the banners are still up for the mystery dinner theater. About 60% of the motels on SOH Expressway appear to be open.

Mike Walker is doing a 2 pm show on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and most Thursdays at Hamner theater. Legends reopens on 2/1. The Hughes Family reopens on 2/4. Hot Winter Fun will be held at the American Bandstand Theater on 2/5.

And the RFD Theater is back on the market. The sold sign I saw in November is gone and the for sale banner is back up.

According to their website, Johnson Strings will be at the Americana Theater this year.

Hopefully, this will put their show "on the map" as it's a very good show.

Grand Country is back in full wing as of last night,

The haygoods start up on feb 8th,

Choices Concert Hall has a big dinner and a show for Valentines day planned. They are the only place in town this year to offer Dinner and Show!!

After hours on Valentines Day? Choices will have entertainment, Dancing, Kitchen and Bar will be open until closing time.

Several other shows will be starting up on Valentines weekend.

I am sure there is something going on at Branson Center Stage.

Silver Dollar City touts 'diamond jubilee' 60th anniversary season

story here:
https://amp.news-leader.com/amp/4503...mpression=true

“The 2020 season will be a "60th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee" celebration, park officials announced in a news release distributed late last week. The jubilee begins March 17 as the park opens for Spring Ride Days.

Touting 2.2 million guests each year, Silver Dollar City's 2020 offer includes "a whole new area of a town in celebration;" new food offerings including a barbecue restaurant and a home-style cinnamon bread bakery; and Mystic River Falls, a water adventure ride announced in August.”

According website there are 7 shows at Americana this year. That will be a houseful.

Thats doesnt include the show by Casandre' for Christmas.

I am sure that is alot of scheduling juggling.. amazing job.

At least on the website Billy yates isnt listed, since this will be the 2nd year he isnt there.. I wonder if they have his name off of the outside of the building yet.. LOL.. was up all of 2019, even though he wasnt there.
