The 06/20/21 accident was a 12 year old boy on the coasters on 76 Blvd.

from the AP:
"BRANSON, Mo. (AP) — A 12-year-old boy is hospitalized after an accident at a roller coaster attraction in Branson.

Branson officials say the accident happened about 7:30 p.m. Sunday at The Branson Coaster. Emergency responders found the child trapped on a ride with what appeared to be serious injuries.

The child had to be extricated. He was flown by helicopter to a Springfield hospital. Details about his injuries have not been released.

The Missouri State Fire Marshall’s office is investigating the cause of the accident."

----I think there was some confusing about a news story being passed around on a Facebook thread which was an older story from Oct 2018 that happened at a different location:

"Branson Fire Chief Ted Martin says three people were taken to the emergency room with minor injuries after a collision on a Branson roller coaster Thursday night. They were not admitted to the hospital. Two cars collided on the track of the Branson Runaway Mountain Coaster off of Highway 165."

(Granted, the person who shared this story did say it was an older accident, but other readers shared it without that part of her comment.)

From The Kansas City Star:
A boy was seriously injured Sunday evening after being trapped beneath a roller coaster in Branson, a popular Ozarks tourist destination.

First responders were called to assist an injured coaster rider at about 7:30 p.m. at the Branson Coaster in the 2100 block of West 76 Country Boulevard, according to Branson Fire Rescue.

Representatives for the amusement park could not immediately be reached for comment.

There, they found a 12-year-old boy who was trapped underneath the roller coaster, according to a Facebook post from rescue personnel.

They began giving the boy, who appeared to have serious injuries, immediate medical care, according to Branson Fire Rescue.

After an hour and 40 minutes “on a very difficult technical rescue,” the boy was extricated from the ride and taken by Mercy Life Line helicopter to a hospital in Springfield, according to the Facebook post.

Information regarding how the boy ended up trapped beneath the roller coaster was not immediately available. The Missouri State Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating the incident.

That's good and very smart of the venue!

I haven't ridden the coaster, but apparently it slows or stops partway though the ride. He got confused and unlatched his seat belt before the ride was over. He has some sort of vision impairment so that may have played a part in him not realizing there was more distance left to go on the ride.

Yeah, it's basically two shorter coasters in one. You go back up a lift for the second and seemingly faster run(at least to me).

Sounds like he should not have been allowed to ride alone with his severe visual impairment and the confusion on when the ride ended as it slowed down. He may lose his legs.

That will be the argument from the family as well. They have already contacted a legal team. It is my opinion that the responsible adult of the group should have made that decision- and did in fact, make that decision by taking the family to the coaster. It should not be an employee's decision on a customer's ability past the size/weight restriction for the equipment.

we have ridden that coaster a couple times, I could kind of see how if you got to the bottom you might think the ride was over.

these stories coming out about the kid and his injuries are sad to hear.
