I believe that is the same meal I tried when I ate there this past summer and it was amazing! Definitely looking forward to eating it again the next time I get down there.

Was there for dinner the other night. Got one of my go-to's: smoked brisket (meat only) and a side of Poblano Cream Corn Brule`. Some of the best eating in this town! Brisket is so tender and juicy. Not fatty, just moist and juicy, cooked to perfection. And just the naked, smoked brisket, not slathered in sauce as some places are prone to do. And the juxtaposition of the smokey poblano peppers and the green onions with the sweet cream and brule` topping on the corn is just heavenly!

@ Soxter - - a well deserved reward for their time, effort and quality..

@ STo - -You cant go wrong eating here,

@Cutie - -, I always ask for my meal naked, No sauce.. BBQ on the side is fine..
But i dont want to have to have it,
AND the meat better not "need" it..
AND it never does at Get's Basted.. as opposed to some of the other place in town.

I have been known to bring my own fav. sauce into bbq joints in a brown paper bag and order it without the house sauce. Guess I will have to taste their bbq sauce before making a judgement.

Hmm...Even though I realize the word "barbecue" is derived from a spanish term, meaning meat cooked over a fire with sticks, etc...well, not to get to technical...but isn't the meat at a BBQ joint, ordered without sauce...just SMOKED meat, and therefore cannot be considered "American" BBQ? I usually eat my ordered brisket and/or chicken half and half...half with no sauce, just SMOKED...and the other half with sauce..or BBQ style.

I like it both ways, the SMOKED meat delicious, just plain, while adding bbq SAUCE spices it up and raises the taste factor to a completely different level. I do not think anyone would win a bbq contest, just by serving smoked meat...as it is the bbq SAUCE that wins the contest's, every time.

In Texas, most BBQ places don't have meat with sauce on it.

I really don’t eat corn these days. Just tend to stay clear of grains period. But I do make an exception for this. It is so worth it!

The rubs, marinates, type of smoke, etc.... can make or break a smoked meat way before any sauce applied.

Had the brisket Thursday night. Got the last they had for the day. Awesome!!! Had those great beans, and the fresh made pork rinds as sides. Really good stuff. Kind of forgot about that corn. A definite for next time.
