Sonic half price shakes -- maybe

Friday evening we went down to the Landing to eat at Big Whiskey's Happy Hour and had planned on staying for the Army Bands concert at 7.

After finding out the concert had been canceled (due to the morning rainstorm which moved through by lunch) we did some window shopping at the Landing and then decided to ride around for awhile. We ended up in Hollister at 8:05 and decided a half-price shake from Sonic would be a nice dessert. The message sign was flashing 1/2 price shakes after 8 pm.

We drove up to the drive through speaker at 8:07 and asked for 2 shakes. The male voice coming from the speaker said that shakes were not yet half-price so we checked the time on the car clock, our watches, and our phones. The time was definitely after 8. DH asked the employee if he was sure that shakes were not half-price yet. He said he would try to ring them up and check the price. The shakes rang up at full price. Then he asked if we still wanted the shakes. DH said no and the male voice said he hoped we would try them again sometime. We pulled out at 8:09.

We then drove over to the Sonic at the Falls shopping center and bought half-price shakes with no problems.

Does anyone know if the Sonic at Hollister and the one at the Falls shopping center have the same franchise owner?
