Thumbs up Review-Baba's Burgers, Gyros & More

Most burger joints that are national chains are a crap shoot. There are some local and regional outlets that have a following but do not agree with my taste, (Burger Shack falls into this category for me). Others like Freddy's hit the mark for me. I have found a new place in Branson that rings my chimes... Baba's Burgers, Gyros & More.

On the far East end of the strip, across from the Auto & Farm Museum, next to a motel, it is easy to overlook. I am told it was a donut shop before the 2011 tornado remodeled that part of Hwy 76.

This joint has the usual hot dog, hamburger and "sides" fare along with some unexpected offerings.

My 11 year old, being a typical 11 year old, ordered the cheeseburger, ($5.39),

and fries, ($1.89),

The burger was well dressed, hand pattied and juicy and the fries were done to an outside crispness while the interior remained light and fluffy. Good stuff.

My wife and I, being Gyro aficionados, each had the regular Gyros sandwich, ($6.59), they also have a chicken version.

While not up to the standard set by the Greek Deli on Main Street in downtown Branson in my opinion, it was a very good version of the Greek sandwich. I thought the Tzatsiki sauce could have used a bit more garlic and perhaps would have been improved by the use of Greek yogurt in the prep... but I am picky that way.

My wife ordered a side of onion rings, ($2.49) which came to the table looking like a picture in a magazine ad... I managed to try one and they are very good.

I ordered a side of fried pickles, ($2.59) ... they come with two generous cups of ranch dressing and I could have made a meal out of a couple of orders of these... they were that good, (I practically had to fight the 11 yer old for them!)

Baba's also has an Elk burger, ($7.49) which I will try next time... and a buffalo burger, ($7.99), which is the most expensive item on the menu. Hot dogs, corn dogs, 5 different chicken sandwiches and a full kid's menu fill out the rest of the offerings. Drinks are Pepsi products or tea, (regular & sweet).

For a quick and delicious lunch or dinner that won't bust your budget while in Branson try

That looks like a great place. Nobody is likely to knock Billy Bob's of the top of Burger Mountain in Branson, but it's good to have other options with extended menus. Did you happen to notice the operating hours? Open later than 9:00PM I hope.

Thanks for the detailed review! It sounds like a place my husband would love. I'll have to remember it for our trip in December.
