Unhappy Chicago Pizza & Gyros

Visited Branson Landing's Chicago Pizza & Gyros a couple hours ago, probably the most disappointing dining experience I've ever had in Branson or anywhere else as far as that goes. Aside from the food being mediocre at best, the service and attitude of the entire staff was pitiful. The lady who took our order at the counter was very cold, unfriendly and not real helpful when we order toppings off the menu and she said "don't have that here". When I pointed out to her it was on the menu she yelled at a couple of males in the back area and they yelled something back and she said "We don't have that here". Then the two males engaged in a conversation, some in a foreign language, some in English that I hope my 6 & 3 year old didn't pick up on. Foul language doesn't go well with pizza when you try to keep yourself and children away from that kind of environment.

Then apparently one of the males got an earful from another angry customer. The female and male employees had a discussion (loudly) about the angry customer about 2 feet from my table, topped off with the female saying very loudly "I guess they'll just get over it".

The two pizzas came, I said thank you to the guy when he brought each one and he never said a word or even made a grunt. We spent well over $50 on frozen pizza quality food and never heard a "thanks", "appreciate it", "come back" or anything even resembling a pleasantry.

Anyway...all that plus being out of ice, no lids that fit the cups (they had lids- they just didn't fit any cups in the joint) and as I said, mediocre food combined with terrible service, makes me enthusiastically recommend no one ever darken the doors again.

I don't remember if they have Chicago style pizza, but Mickey's in Branson West has wonderful Chicago Dogs and the best sliders around. The staff is pretty much the owner and his wife, and they are VERY cordial - there is definitely no "Just-gimmie-your-money" attitude and no language.

My son usually stop there on our way from SDC to my parents' house in Bentonville and load up on sliders and Chicago Dogs.

I hope they're still open. We only went to Branson once this year and didn't get to stop at Mickey's. Mickey's is, in my opinion, the best fast-food in the Branson area.

Once again - it's in Branson West, across from what used to be the only log-cabin McDonald's in the world.

You may have just wanted to give the rest of a head's-up, which I appreciate - and vent, which I can appreciate, but I couldn't help but take this opportunity to promote my favorite fast-food place in the Branson area.

P.S. - The first time we went in there, my son went straight to the restroom and I went to order. After I made my order, the lady at the counter asked "..And what would your brother like?"

I'm disappointed to hear that. I've always liked the gyros there (never had the pizza) and service was cheerful when we were there.

If they don't turn that behavior around, there will be a new vacancy at BL.... too many good places to eat for folks to tolerate that for long!

A slider is a mini-burger, like what they sell at White Castle or Krystal's.

Yes, by the way. I was very flattered, but my son has been taller than me since he was 13. I'm 6'2", he's now 16 and 6'5". It was an easy mistake to make.

Some wait staff are just naturals!! They know exactly what to say to make the customer happy and possibly leave a large tip.

DD had sliders at Chili's today. She ate 3 and brought one home. DS heated it in the microwave and I swear it was better tasting than it was at lunch. And, it was very good at lunch!!

Lots and lots of sliders!

He'd also rather eat a steak than win a lottery...If that gives you any idea.

I'll never waste my money @ Chicago Pizza & Gyros. I couldn't believe the staff, fighting with each other verbally in front of the customers. The had no forks or spoons. My wife had to get stern with them to get paper for the ladies restroom. We all were going to eat, but after that only ordered a slice of pizza & a hot dog for the kids & even that was horrible..
