dining at SDC
We are planning to go to SDC the first week in October and are wondering about the restaurants there. How many? Which is best, etc.??

You can do a search on "Silver Dollar City" and limit it to the Shopping and Dining forum to get many opinions and favorites that have been posted over the months. basil |

Any place in SDC is good!
We are partial to the Mine restaurant, but also there is a place down by the lost river -- not the bbq place, but up by the kids play area that has excellent food as well. Actually have never eaten at a bad place in the city.

Are there many steps to get to the mine restaurant? I will have my elderly mother with me and I was wondering if she could handle the steps?

If my memory serves me correctly, I think it is a ramp, no steps. But then again, my memory has been known to fail me -- but on most of their stuff - there might be 1 or 2 steps but that is all -- have made everything very handicapable!

The mine is a good place to eat...we tried them for the first time last week when we were in SDC. There are mostly ramps getting in and out of the mine, however, being SLIGHTLY claustrophobic, this was not an ideal place for me, although the food was great! I think I prefer the Mill, which is beside the Mine, but it's "up top".

We have 2 favorites we eat at. Lumberjack camp near the Opera House has great Angus burgers. We also like Aunt Pollies where you can get a huge meal over in the children's area, only problem it's pretty expensive, for 2 of us it was around 22.00 but the food was excellant. Even got discount with our season tickets.
TIP-----if you have a season ticket, make sure you show it when purchasing your meals, can get a 10% discount. Not alot but every bit helps. Not good on buying just drinks, etc. has to be a meal. ![]() |

I know that I asked this once before, but failed to write it down, and of course can't remember now. Last trip to SDC we saw someone with a breadbowl of spaghetti. It looked and smelled so good. Does anyone know where in the park you find that? I promise I will write it down this time!!!
