Dining Update 11/22

Was in Branson Sunday - Tuesday this week. Steak and Shake on west side of town has reopened but with limited hours -- example it closed at 8 pm on Monday night. Pizza World has reopened at Bigfoot in the space where Coldstone Creamery used to be.

When we drove by Shoney's on Sunday and Monday nights after 8 it appeared to be closed. Never went by there in the daytime so not sure what's going on. Perhaps a local can provide more info.

The new Panera on the strip (where the old Ramada used to be) has opened. Didn't see many cars there on Sunday or Monday nights but I bet most folks don't know that it has opened.

The 3 Wendy's in town seem to have some issues. Went to the one on the strip by White Water on Sunday night, and it was short of help plus out of several items on the menu. The manager on duty was giving free Jr Frostys to people who were waiting to eat in the dining room. We decided to leave after we were told the food we wanted was not available and drove on to the Wendy's by Chick Fil A. Dining room was closed at 8:30 but drive through was open. When we ordered chili and baked potatoes we were told they had to check to see if those items were available because they were out earlier. Fortunately they were available. Monday we went to the Wendy's by Target to get the $3 breakfast that is being advertised heavily on TV. Marquee sign out front had $3 breakfast on it. When we placed our order the man said we are not doing that anymore. When my husband said it was on the sign out front the guy said to someone, "Why is it still on the sign out front?" We were again told rudely they weren't doing it anymore. And we saw the promotion on TV again after Tuesday.

On the strip Olive Garden, Cheddars, Longhorn, Andy's, Cakes and Cream, and McDonald's were all busy after 8 both nights. There were a lot of cars at Getting Basted, Flaming Margarita, Ruby Tuesday, and Applebees on Monday night. And on Monday night the restaurants in downtown Hollister were busy.

Speaking of Flaming Margarita, has anyone eaten there? I haven't seen any reviews or comments about it here on the board.

We ate at Flaming Margarita about a year ago. I don’t want to discourage anyone from eating there, but as a life long Texans it wasn’t our kind of Mexican food. For example the beans had what looked like sliced wieners in them. Who does that? But, as I recall the margarita was good, a little pricy though.
