Yes! Speed skating and racing events are my favorite, too....just the clock to decide who wins. And those competitions are fast and exciting.

I need to find a schedule, like BiscuitCreek suggested.

I have searched the internet and they mention many of the events but I haven't been able to find a schedule. Maybe Biscuit Creek can point us in the right direction.

Thanks for the info. Guess I had better make plans to be in front of the TV Thursday night.

WOW! All that curling!
After that I'll have to calm down with some bobsled, luge, downhill, giant slalom, and freestyle snowboard!

Mixed Curling - USA Victory

"The sport involves sliding "stones" into a circle down the ice, with teammates sweeping the ice to help direct the stone. Typically a team consists of four members. But in mixed curling, there are just two players per team.

Leading the American mixed curling team is the brother, sister duo of Matt and Becca Hamilton of McFarland, Wisconsin. In their first event, the Hamiltions defeated a Russian duo playing under the Olympic flag by a 9-3 score, in seven ends.

The American team is one of eight that qualified in mixed curling. Besides the Russian duo, Canada, China, Finland, Norway, Switzerland and South Korea are represented.

Already, the Hamilton family has built a social media following, with Twitter users tweeting hashtag #HamFam during past qualifying events. "

Don't think I have ever watch the "Mixed Curling" but sounds interesting. Will put it on my schedule. Would be nice for the USA to come in first.

Thanks for the details of the sport.

Chris Mazdzer wins a Silver Medal for USA in Luge Singles.

You can watch the video here:

And a GOLD in Snow Boarding!

"Red Gerard captured America's first gold medal of the Pyeongchang Games - first medal of any color, in fact - and will soon go on a victory tour he never saw coming, even if the rowdy, red-white-and-blue mosh pit full of friends and family at the bottom envisioned it all along."

I want one of those purdy biathlon rifles.
I don't want to spend $3000-$4000 for one!

She certainly was. And she may not even be the best on her team. But she was amazing!

I started thinking of it as horeshoes on ice, and I was able to understand it a little bit.

Thanks Suze and LaJoe for clearing up some of the points of the sport. It came on TV while I was with some friends yesterday and I watched it for quite a while and actually enjoyed it. One of the guys said it also reminded him of shuffleboard.

On with the games.....and more medals.
