Branson, Missouri “the Live Music Show Capital of the World,” will be celebrating America’s Independence Day and the Fourth of July with a number of fireworks displays and celebrations. Although most will be on July 4, some will start early on June 27th and other will be on July 5th.

Celebrate America College of the Ozarks Honor America

June 27, 2010

College of the Ozarks invites the public to attend the 21st annual Honor America on Sunday, June 27. The event will begin with a picnic at 4:30 p.m. where attendees can purchase barbecue items, followed by a musical entertainment beginning at 5 p.m. and a patriotic program and concert at 8 p.m.

“Honor America has become a tradition that people of all ages can enjoy,” said Elizabeth Andrews, College of the Ozarks public relations director. “Kids can play with tinker toys, make bubbles and much more, while parents and grandparents can enjoy great music, barbecue and relax. Folks who attend will experience an atmosphere reminiscent of an old-fashioned patriotic celebration.”

This year’s event will host a new slate of entertainers. Before the sky lights up with fireworks, the cast from Red, Hot… and Blue! will perform American classics from the 40s, 50s and 60s. The Petersen Family Band of Branson will entertain attendees with bluegrass and Southern Gospel music.

“Patriotism is a main focus at College of the Ozarks, and Honor America is a great way to celebrate that,” said Andrews. “I can’t think of a better way to kick off the Fourth of July holiday than by coming to the College’s beautiful campus to listen to music that encompasses the American spirit and to pay tribute to our nation. So, please join us as we honor America.”

After dark, an elaborate fireworks display will conclude the event. Honor America is free and is open to the public, but don’t forget your lawn chairs. At The Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Theatre, Harold Bell Wright's epic story of love, loss, power, hardship, and the true meaning of life is immortalized every night on our star-lit stage. It takes over 80 actors and actresses, 40 horses, a flock of sheep, several guns and rifles, an actual burning log cabin, and a vintage 1908 DeWitt automobile to make the live action performance what it is today.

Since our first season in 1959-60, the outdoor drama has entertained millions of Branson visitors. People who came to see the show as children come back to bring their own families. The cast members exhibit the loyalty and affection they have for the story itself. Several of them have been in the drama since its inception. The Shepherd of the Hills is not just another Ozarks show - it is the story of the Ozarks.

57th Annual Hollister 4th of July Celebration

On July 4th, 2010 area residents, visiting families, and tourists will witness the oldest fireworks display in Taney County. The City of Hollister celebrates its 57th year of spectacular firework shows. This 4th of July Show has become an annual tradition, with many families and visitors to the City of Hollister and the Tri-Lakes Area.

This celebration has been presented by the City of Hollister Fire Department for more than 50 years. Historic Downing Street in Hollister. Fireworks at dusk.

Fireburst 2010 Celebration - July 4th

The 25th Annual Fireburst fireworks show will be held again this year over the waters of Table Rock Lake! The Fireburst 2010 Spectacular can be viewed by car, boat or on foot. An estimated 1,000 boats will gather again to experience this popular summertime event. Fireworks show begins at dusk July 4th. Bring your lawn chairs. Admission is free! Independence Day celebration featuring one of the most spectacular fireworks displays over Table Rock Lake near the Kimberling City Bridge on Hwy 13. Shell Knob 35th Fire and Thunder Fireworks Celebration- July 4th

The trappings of the modern world were slow to penetrate the rugged hills of the Ozarks. The people who settled the area learned to make do and take enjoyment from the simple pleasures of life. After two decades as a sleepy little farming community where two rivers met, Shell Knob was reborn as a lakeside community in the late 1950s with the completion of Table Rock Dam. Today, Shell Knob is just big enough to have everything you need, yet small enough to be a friendly and relaxing community. Come join them as they celebrate a 35th year of fireworks and fun!
