J & J Cheese Factory

There's not too much I miss about living in the Chicago northern suburbs but there are a few things not readily available here in the Ozarks.

One of those things is good cheese.

I stumbled across a business located 5 miles north of Saddlebrook on highway 65. J & J Cheese factory is at 330 Burk Rd. in Highlandville is easily accessible from the highway.

Inside this establishment you will find, (among other things), honest to goodness Wisconsin cheese curds. That alone would be worth the trip, but they also carry specialty cheeses from a small family producer, Hennings Cheese, (try the garlic cheddar and the bacon cheddar).

You can also get an assortment of summer sausages, jams and jellies, artisan pickles and snacks.

Friendly service, great selection and fair prices, this place is well worth the 20 minute ride north from Branson. https://www.facebook.com/JandJCheeseFactory/

I noticed this place last Monday when I was driving south from Springfield.
Will have to check it out sometime.

When looking for more info, I found this article:

Tort, have you ever checked out the Heather Hill Farms cheese shop behind Lamberts in Ozark? That store sells Osceola cheese.

That's a pretty cheesy article Tort, but I'd be inclined to check out the summer sausage.
