Free fishing days June 9 & 10

During the Saturday and Sunday following the first Monday in June, any person may fish state waters without an MDC fishing permit, trout permit, and prescribed area daily tag. However, user fees and permits may still be required at county, city, or private fishing areas. Normal regulations, such as size and daily limits, still apply, too.
A special event for youths to be held on Saturday at Shepherd of the Hills hatchery as part of Free Fishing Weekend.

Free Fishing Day Events
Annual Free Fishing Days: Family Fishing Fair
Date: Saturday, June 9, 2018 - 9:00am to 2:00pm

Location: Shepherd of the Hills Conservation Center

NO Reservations Requited (Families – Only Ages 15 and under will fish)
Come join us at Belladonna Pond for our annual FREE event where kids get to fish in a stocked pond and learn more about how to be a better angler. In addition to being able to go fishing (children 15 and under), several learning stations will help you learn to: tie knots, bait and fly casting, fish maze, ethical fishing, and how to rig up a pole. Free ‘goodie bags’ will be given to every kid and there will be a drawing for a free rod/reel combo at the end of the day. There will be a limited number of loaner fishing poles, but you will have no waiting if you bring your own pole and cooler. The “My First Fish” station is for anyone who catches their very first fish to get their photo taken. At noon there will be a special performance by the “Fishin Magicians”. They will introduce you and your family to the importance of water resources and amaze you with their fun magic

All times are GMT -6. The time now is 03:36 PM.
