NOT good news...Moon River Grille sold, closed, and it’s replacement is NOTHING like, nor as good, as the original. I fear the same fate of the theatre....

Hmmm, 6.7M does not strike me as a particulary high price for that package. I'm thinking it might be a sign of a lack of prosperity currently, and a shortage of optimism about the future.

I noticed on Zillow the other day-- (as soon as I win the lottery i'm buying a condo or cabin:rolleyes: ) -- a vacant lot across from the Presley's 2.2 acres for 1.5 million. Which does makes the Andy Williams theater look a little low on price with their 11 acres and theater.

a beautiful theater on the outside but the inside is one of the worst theaters in Branson in my view, and I base that on having taken someone with mobility issues, it was almost impossible to get around all the steps and get to our seats.

I'll play straight man here-- it would make a perfect church for the _________. wouldn't have to hardly change the signage.

A new venue for Jim Baker or a snazzy office for making time-share presentations.:p:p:p

I have to admit, I'm more than a little saddened by this news. But also, I'm not at all surprised. In fact, I had anticipated it happening sooner, given Jimmy Osmond suffered a pretty serious stroke back in late December and is recuperating and working on his full recovery back home in Utah.

Also, because it IS Jimmy Osmond, and because I know he has so much respect for Andy Williams and his legacy, I suspect that he will be quite picky about any prospective buyer and their intentions for the facility.

Well let's see...Bakker is in pretty thick with Paula White...who is now in pretty thick with Trump...and to him 6.7M is chump change...oh man...the possibilities here are scary...

The people carrying the loan want their money back and it will go to whoever makes the best offer. It is being marketed as real estate, not just a theater. If someone wants to bulldoze the building and use the property for other purposes they will be happy to sell it to them. It is an architecturally beautiful facility but has a lot of problems attached to it.

When Andy Williams owned the building there was a whole different vibe to it, and he did indeed care about quality. It would be a shame if someone levels the building, but with knowledge of many other theaters in town for sale I cannot forsee anyone who would pay anywhere near that price to open a theater in Branson. Well before I started doing business in Branson I would come to town just to see Andy and Glen Campbell, sometimes twice a day. There are not many legends from that era left, make sure you go see the ones you can when they come to your town. I would like to see someone be able to rescue the facility, but I don’t know of anyone other than a zillionaire with money to burn who would invest that kind of money in the Branson market. This would be a good time to start all sorts of rumors about major stars whose dream it is to come to Branson. Let me get the ball rolling. I hear Ozzy Osbourne is looking for a place to settle down.

Well Ozzy is 70 now, so it's about time. Wait...."Ozzy Osbourne's Bark At The Moon River Theater". Money in the bank.
