Fill me in on the tips to have a great experience at Dixie Stampede. Seems like I read years ago that if you didn't purchase a drink before the show, that you didn't get one??? Also, how have the crowds been? Do you think we could get tickets when we get into town? Thanks for any information about the show. Would also like to know the menu if anyone knows.

We went last summer. With your ticket to the show, you get a free drink coupon for the pre-show. That's probably what you're thinking. I'm pretty sure we had drinks while watching the show and eating dinner. I'm thinking iced tea, etc.

You can reserve your tickets now and pick them up and pay for them when you get to Branson. Seats are assigned as tickets are reserved, so your seats may be better this way.

When you arrive for the show, you'll show your ticket at the first door, then go back to have your picture taken. After this, you go into a pre-show area. There you use your drink coupon and can get snacks. Our pre-show was a lasso artist; not sure if it's still the same.

After the pre-show, you go into the area. Your ticket will tell you where to sit. Then the show starts and the dinner is served. No utensils are provided for eating the food, but it's finger food anyway.

You have to use your drink ticket during the preshow because you won't get another chance during the show to use it. They do serve drinks with the meal and I think it was ice tea and maybe Pepsi (could be wrong on the pepsi). It is a fun show to go to and we really like the food.

odds are you could get tickets, however the times we've been there it looks fairly full, to be sure i'd reserve in advance.

whatever time they tell you that the preshow starts... get there plenty early, seating isn't assigned for the preshow and it fills up pretty fast

menu? been a couple of years, someone may have to correct here... starts off with a bowl of vegetable soup, a cheese flavored biscuit, large chicken, fried potato, corn on the cob, pork, ends with a fried pie.

drink question was answered.. just add you'll get several refill during your meal as well

Thank you all. It sure helps to know some of the "ins and outs" before you go. We are looking forward to the show. Been to Branson for many years, but never went to The Stampede. :)

How do you eat vegetable soup with your fingers? LOL That is one thing that has always turned me off about going there - no silverware.

When we went in March of this year they no longer gave the free drink tickets out. Was very expensive for 4 drinks. During the meal you get a choice of tea or pepsi and maybe coffee. You drink the soup out of a mug type bowl. Its usually a thick cream soup.

Don't miss out on the show because of the "no silverware", Your hands don't get that messy. The soup is in a bowl with a handle, and it is not the thin vegetable soup that you buy in a can, it is creamy and very tasty. The rest of the food is very tasty as well. :)
