Can anyone tell me if there is enough time to go from The Dixie Dinner Show at 5:30 and get to the Dutton Theatre for their 8pm show? My family is visiting from Pennsylvania in mid August and I thought we might be able to do the two shows. Highway 76 gets pretty backed up and would just like to know if it can be done. Any shortcuts would be appreciated. Thanks. :)

Welcome to the board! Boy that would be tough...kind of cutting it close...the shows are on different ends of the strip...Dixie should be out 7:30 or so it would be travel time, parking and getting in the show before the show starts...backroads...yes for sure you would have to use them to get there quickly..could use Green Mountain Dr. OR...Truman Dr. to Roark Rd to Shepherd of the Hills then back to 76. But sometimes the backroads can be congested too.

we've made it to that area for 8;00 shows a couple of times so it can be done, but you won't have much time to spare when trying it.
best thing.. stay off of 76 as much as possible.
if you can cross traffic... go back east 2 or 3 blocks and head at the Y head west until you can get into the 1000 hills area, follow it till you can enter the Duttons parking lot from the back side.
if you can't cross traffic, go west on 76 until you get to Wal marts, cut through wal marts parking lot, and again go through the thousand hills area.
another way we've done it is find a road that goes north and cut through to the Shep of the hills exp and follow it up to the stop light by Ray Stevens, cross over and come in on the back side of the Duttons.
it'll be tight but possible

You know, Dixie Stampede is also having an 8:00 show...so they have to have all the 5:30 folks out of the paking lot and all the 8:00 folks in. I think that since you will be coming out of Dixie onto 76 by turning right...you should just keep on going right down 76 until you reach The Duttons. I would try it that way myself.

Doesn't the pre-show in the saloon start a half hour earlier than the one in the arena at Dixie?

that's what I was thinking... pre-show at 5;00 to 5;30 and main show from 5;30 to 7;00, giving an hour to fight the crowd to your car and the traffic to another show. said it's been 2 years since we were there... need someone more recent.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I do appreciate the info. If someone has been to Dixie Stampede recently, the 5:30 show, can you tell me the time you got out? That will help me make my decision. Again, Thank you all.
I just called Dixie Stampede - told them what you were wanting to do. The 5:30 show gets out at 7:00 pm - so they thought you'd have no problem getting to a show on the other end of the strip.
I'd say take the back roads, and arrive early, so you can park near the exit, so you don't get caught in a parking lot traffic jam ~ and have yourself a busy evening!

You can enter and leave The Duttons Theatre by way of The Dutton Inn on Green Mountain Drive as well as from the 76 Strip.
