We are planning our first trip to Branson the end of July. I really appreciate this forum. It has helped me make a lot of decisions, but I have a couple questions regarding the show tickets. If I purchase tickets for a certain day, would it be possible to exchange for another day if things don't go as planned? Also, is it possible to get discount tickets to Yakov?
One more question. I would like some suggestions for reasonably priced diners. We plan to hit as many shows as possible, so we are going to be frugal when it comes to eating.

There are so many reasonably priced restaurants in the town. It is hard to pick just a few. Also, when you check in, there should be a map of the area (showing all the side roads, etc.) and there are coupons on it as well for some discounts for shows. I know we used it to go to Shorty Smalls and got the free onion loaf (onion rings) for the 3 of us and we took the left overs back to the cabin and ate the next day.
There are a lot of buffets in the area (Grand Country, Golden Corral, Western Sizzlin'), there are great restaurants downtown (Farmhouse, The Shack, Branson Cafe), then there are more middle of the road to upper prices (Southtowne Grill, Top of the Rock; Candlestick, Rocky's Italian, Lone Star, BT Bones, Outback Steak & Oyster bar - remember this one is not part of the Outback Steakhouse chain). and other places Rib Crib; Clockers; Ruby Tuesday; Applebees, Short Smalls, etc.
I know you should be able to eat reasonably. Depending on where you are staying -- if you are in a kitchenette type of facility, consider bringing or buying stuff for breakfast or light lunch and then saving those funds for later. If you are staying in a place that has continental breakfast, get up early enough to enjoy that and you will save a few bucks there as well.
On the exchange on the tickets, I would check with the show when you order your tickets. I would think it wouldn't be a problem, but when you reserve them, ask about their exchange policy.

Thanks VBeason. I'm sure your information will be very helpful.
More questions ..... Do the theaters have reserved seating or is it general seating? And how early do we need to arrive for the shows? I'm just trying to squeeze as much into each day as I can.

The seating is reserved. You can get there as late as 5 minutes before the show, but some of the shows have a "pre-show" with a comic or part of the cast to entertain people as they arrive. Sometimes that can be as good as the actual show, so you might want to ask that question as well.
And with the traffic the way it can be from time to time, check out the backroads to see if you can get there that way vs. the main road or "strip" 76 Country Music Blvd. If you can get there in pretty good time the back roads, you can get there in no time.

made reservations at two places yesterday, both charged my credit card and one said you could cancel up to 48 hours before the show and get a refund, other said 24 hours.
earlier you reserve the better the seating, if you try and trade late you might not get as good of seats as your originals
places that don't charge your card usually tell you that you need to pick up your tickets an hour before show time, otherwise they'll sell them to someone else. most times that's the first thing we do when we get to Branson just to be sure there aren't any mistakes.

Just an FYI. #1 Hits Of The 60'S (at The Musical Palace) does not charge or even require a credit card to reserve tickets. In addition, tickets may be picked up anytime before showtime. However, if you do wish to avoid standing in line with our walk up guests, the Box Office suggests picking up your tickets before 1:30 for our 2:00 matinees and 7:30 for our 8:00 evening shows. And for those of you who like to avoid the traffic on Hwy 76, we are conveniently located at the corner of Hwy 248 and the Shepherd of the Hills Expressway.
