We went by the Haygoods on our way home this evening. I asked Paps if I could go stand at the door, and say to guys as they went in, hey do you know Stanley. But he thought I needed to come on home. Then as we were on North Glenstone, we realized that it was one year ago that Stanley arrived at our house and we saw the cars in Springfield. We talked about it and sure enough in the exact spot on North Glenstone as last year we saw the car shoot fire out of it's tail pipe. Wow so much has happened in one year, and yet it seems like that was just yesterday. Hope you have a great evening and tell us all!
I went to the Haygoods show tonight and had a WONDERFUL time. I have seen them several times at Silver Dollar City but this was the first time to see them in their new home on the strip. I knew what to expect going into the show but boy I was TOTALLY surprised at how everything about them has matured. Everything from the singing, dancing, the show in general was very polished and nice. Segments that I loved from the past like the black light segment and others are presented in new and fresh ways. I don't want to tell you too much about the show because I don't want to ruin the surprise for some of you but my favorite segment was when everyone was flying and swinging around from the ceiling. REALLY A GREAT SHOW!! If you haven't seen the Haygoods since they left SDC it is time that you did . You will certainly not be disappointed. I am ready to go again. The theater was jam packed and everyone was screaming and yelling. This made for a fun atmosphere. On the way out I stopped and introduced myself to Tim Haygood that posts on here once in a while. I asked him if he posted on here and he said yes. I told him who I was on the board. So Tim if you read this I can't express to you enough how much I enjoyed this show. Keep up the good work. :):)
My family and I also ate at the Rib Crib. I really enjoyed it a lot. I had the spare ribs which were delicious!! Also the ranch style beans were very good and HOT ( and no I am not just talking about temperature). They were fantastic. To end our fun evening we had to have Starbucks. I like their vanilla creme frappacinos. Yum Yum!!!

Grands if you went to see some shows this evening I hope you tell us about them.

We went to the Hits of the 60's afternoon show. Paps liked it better then I did. I am more a 70's gal. I agree with someone's post. The best part of the show was the drive-in segment. Those kids worked hard from beginning to end.

A gentleman that sat in the booth beside us was eating with his wife and another couple of friends. The man and his wife are from Branson. He was talking about how Branson was down those couple of months compared to last year and then he went on to say that bus tour reservations for Branson are up over last year. I assume he is talking about the upcoming fall and christmas seasons. I don't know how reliable he is but he was certainly telling the other couple all about Branson and other tidbits of information. I thought it was kind of interesting. It sounds like Branson is going to be teaming with people for the rest of the year. Oh by the way George Jones played the Grand Palace last night and I counted 6 tour buses at his show alone. WOW!!

Im thrilled that things are looking up.
There are seasons, and times, and times of day, when on somedays things look better than others..........its obvious that Branson is home to Country Music, and probably always will be.
I have always liked the cut away from just Country. But, until Branson makes bigger changes, and advertises differently.....we will be blessed with good business, by the *same ol* that is so popular.
I hear some folks wailing about, that we dont have MORE MODERN venues, but, until the money and the toursists damand the changes, Branson will keep its gentle nature.
The naysayers, generally, are people who just are not happy, not making a good living.
Jerm, you bring good news, and postive thinking.
In the next 10 years there will be changes, and possibly by the demands of the folks who grew up in the last 35 years......they may have such an impact, that we will be seeing hard rock concerts down by the lake..........no matter how much we want things to remain the same, MONEY will dictate the way Branson evolves.

but don't expect much support from geezers on this board.... many of whom are the PR people for the various shows (especially the lame shows). It is their job to keep things 'status quo'.
I was even excited when I read that there was a possibility of Tony Danza or Kathy Lee Gifford or Mac Davis coming to Branson, but none of those rumors panned out. And now with Glen Campbell leaving, it continues to spell doom for Branson.
John Davidson didn't show up; Yakov came limping back and Kirby is changing theaters again... a sad state once more.
Best new show (JOSEPH) can't draw flys. Can anything but gambling save Branson?
