http://szrtl.homestead.com/files/smile_wavey.gif Hi gary!

Thanks for the info!!

Can you tell me what the purpose was, of building the Auxiliary Spillway? And, is it going to affect the trout hatchery?
When we were last out that way, it looked as if any water that went through there, would go right through where the hatchery is.

It's stated purpose is to protect the dam from a "really big flood" either the 500 year or 1000 year. When the dam was originally built in the 1950s it was build for flood of much less magnitude and with some dam breaks a few years ago and new technology they decided the project was necessary. You are correct, if it is ever used the first thing that will be flooded out will be the trout hatchery. To date, there is no situation where it would have been used and most folks doubt there every will be but we are prepared. I live on Lake Taneycomo and pray that its not a 10,000 year flooed they have to use it on. Have a great weekend. Thank you for your participation in our forum. I have been reading your posts for quite a while and find them beneficial and interesteding.
