Easy. The Promise. September of 1996...their first season here. I was working with a youth ministry and a couple of us brought a group of teenaged girls to Branson. Went to SDC for the day. We had free tickets to The Promise, which had been given to us by a couple who was in the show and had met a couple in our ministry. I never dreamed then that just a few years later I'd end up LIVING in Branson and then end up working at The Promise!!

The first time ... we went to SDC.
Then, ...hmmmmmmm ... then the next time, it seems to me....we stayed over night, and saw Andy Williams, Boxcar Willie, and Mel Tillis .........then we decided to stay another night and saw..Bobby Vinton and..Charlie Pride and the Oak Ridge Boys. Those are the first big shows we saw...
The first time I saw the Baldknobbers was in the High School Gym....when they came here. That had to be before 1978.........
I don't think we started going to Branson on a regular basis til the 90s....we had so much going on we worked on the farm every weekend, I worked here all week...........hubs drove truck...........no vacations ever, other than the afternoons down at the pond or over at the river to do a little fishing.

The first show we saw, other than maybe something in SDC, was The Promise many years ago.

I can only remember two theaters so I suppose it would have been either the Presley's or Baldknobbers --- I can't remember that far back.
That would have been back in 1994 when we went down on a bus and the shows were preplaned for us. We didn't know what to expect from this place called Branson. Just heard of different people talking about it so on a whim we signed up on a bus trip. The first day was Shoji Tabucci then Moe Bandy. Then we went to the Branson Belle, Bobbie Vinton, Yacov Smirnoff. I think that was it but we knew we were hooked. On our return trip home on the bus, we were already making plans to go back the following year only on our own in our own car and have been going every year since. We just can't get enough of Branson.

Our first show was Sheri Lewis and Lamb Chop. That was probably in the late 1990's. She was at the Grand Palace for a few weeks. We still have the autographed Lamb Chop, Hushpuppy, and ???

Baldknobbers when I was 15. Now I bring my kids to see them every summer, that is the one show they and my husband and I don't mind seeing every year. It is kind of a tradition to see them every trip to Branson. Our trip would not be final if we didn't go see the Baldknobbers.

Plummers around 17 years ago was our first Branson show. We only did one show that trip. Since then we've been so hooked we've been known to do 3 shows a day on some trips.

I went to Branson for the first time I believe at around age 6. (now 28) I don't remember the first show then, but later on I remember seeing the Presley's (not sure what age!)
The first show was Ray Stevens. The second was Wayne Newton, both in 1993.

The first show we saw was Dixie Stampede in 2003. We also saw Broadway in 2003 because my parents wanted to take us to see a "real" show.

I barely remember a trip as a kid, I think we did Silver Dollar City, and I think saw the original Branson Brothers in Echo Hollow. We also saw Shepherd of the hills, my main memory being rushed to the consession stand while they wheeled the gentleman sitting beside me out on a gurney. What a show!
When I moved there in 1996, I saw The Brumley Show and 76 Country USA with Diana Ponder (now), the old Pierce Arrow with original band and cast (the quartet one!), and Paul Harris on the same stage at what is now Grand Country (76 Music Hall). That is what I consider my first show because it was my favorite and I went back so often.

My first clear recollection of going to Branson was a trip to SDC in 1972 at age 4. The first actual show that I saw was Ray Stevens with my wife in 1991. Tickets were $12.50.
Our first trip was in 1995 and we saw Country Tonight when they were in the RFD Theatre, then 76 Country USA and Elvis and the Superstars...that one almost put an end to my Branson days before they started!!

Roy Clark in 1989. It was our first trip to Branson. We didn't really have high hopes of our trip; we didn't think there would be anything to do there!!!!! When we got there, we discovered that Roy Clark had a theater in Branson, and there was a LOT to do! We've been coming back several times a year ever since.

The first show we saw was Darren Romeo. We went to Branson for my daughters wedding and SIL got free tickets for us. We had not planned to do anything except the wedding. Unfortunately the marriage did not work out but we were introduced to Branson and the rest is history! We plan to move there at the end of the year. DD is there right now in our condo.

Our first trip to Branson was in 2001, we were in Branson Oct 8-11. We went to 3 shows on that trip, 1st one was Spirit of the Dance, 2nd one was Yakov, 3rd one was Pierce Arrow.
We became hooked on Branson during that first trip, DH practically had to drag me there 'cause I thought it was going to be some dumb hick town. I'm glad he drug me there, now I can't get enough of Branson!:D

My first actual show a Branson group coming to my hometown. The Baldknobbers came to the high school and did a show. In Branson, it was at the Hee Haw theater, it was the Hagar Twins. I don't know if it was just them, or others were there. I just remember them. That was a long time ago.

The Braschler's were my first show back in the mid 80's when I was 7 or 8. We were staying at the Save-a-Dollar motel on Gretna and they had coupons for the Braschler's across the street. We loved the show so much that by the time they retired last year I think I've seen them over 30 times.

My first trip was in Sept of 1995. Regis and Kathie Lee had been in Branson and they offered a package so myself and two friends took that offer. I don't remember what order but we saw Charlie Pride, Mel Tillis, The Osmonds, The Presleys and Andy Williams. We had a blast. Don't think I made it back until 1999 but try to come back as often as I can. I haven't been there since Thanksgiving 2006 but I keep hoping I can get there this year. Depends on Dad's health.

I saw a show back in 1978 with a girlfriend ... it was the theatre of some country star who I didn't know from Adam, but we bought some of those fancy cowboy hats with the feathers on them so I know we looked cool! :D
Went back years later with the hubby when our DD was 8 or so (around 1997), saw Jim Stafford and we were hooked!

First show in Branson? Shepherd of the Hills many, many years ago when their outdoor theatre seemed miles away from Branson. Anyone know if that show is still going strong? I was there last summer for the first time in many years, and it was about l/3 full if that much. I didn't care for the background music that was added to the show, but the show itself brought back many happy memories, and I enjoyed it. I hope they have enough business to stay in business.
