Hi Branson lovers!

Our travelzine, FuntripsLIVE.com, is coming to Branson for our quarterly series and we are looking for suggestions from people like you!

We always try to give our subscribers something different - such as a unique place to stay, eat or a "not-so-well-known" attraction. One of our favorite features is interviewing an interesting local character. For example, in New Orleans, we found Tee Eva, known for her mouth-watering pralines and in Breckenridge, CO, Charlie who invented a miraculous gove that has a zipper in it!

We find that locals or regular visitors seem to be our best source for getting on the inside.

Anybody out there who is willing to divulge some of the secrets, will be greatly appreciated. We have a FunTripsLIVE T-shirt for you if we use your ideas.

If you'd like to see what we've done in other areas, please visit our website at http://www.funtripsLIVE.com.

Thanks -

I always thought that an interview with a motel desk clerk that has been around for many years would give us an insight of all the weird situations that they may have encountered. Dealing with the public has it's highs and lows.

A definite - Experience/Attraction/Shopping Mecca is
"Dick's 5 & 10" in downtown Branson. Can't miss it and from the crowds of people who come and go there (with purchases in hand), they must agree! If it is something hard to find (especially something that jogs the memory of days past) it is the place to go.

The restaurants that throw rolls might be a little different. I don't know if this is a common thing or not but it was new to me. Lamberts in Ozark or there is one place in Branson on the way out to the dam.
Also, what about an interview with a singing waiter or waitress at the Hard Luck Cafe?

;) If you want to interview an individual, you should interview the tourguide on Vacation Channel 6. Wish I could remember his name, but he is definitely one of the most colorful characters in town! If you tune in to Channel 6, you can't miss him.

First off i'll say that anywhere anytime there is a story on Branson i'll take time to read or watch it....but.... i'll also say that if your looking for something different there's a few stories I can almost repeat from memory because i've heard them so many times, i'd stay away from stories about.....big cedar lodge-bass pro shops, how roy clark opened the way for big name acts to come to Branson, the life story of Shoji, and stories about the Presely's and baldknobbers, like all the shows and the bass pro shops but the stories have been done over and over.

I read an interview once with the person in charge of putting up the christmas displays at silver dollar city that was really interesting. Have always found it interesting to see interviews with fellow tourists about why they go to Branson what they like about Branson ect.., would like to see more stories about some of the smaller non chain restaurants and the people who run them - like uncle joes barbecue which has been in Branson for as long as I can remember, or cakes n creams ice cream shop. Anoter suggestion if your looking for something different go down further on this message board and look at the topic of "think hard on this one" believe its under misc branson or chit chat thread has to do with best kept secrets of Branson might get some good ideas there.

That would be "Terry the Tour Guide" -- better known as Terry Sanders. And yes, he IS one of the most colorful characters in town!!!

Here is a unique show in Branson! Their show motto is "No Song, No Dance" and it is different than any other in town. They also serve a GREAT steak dinner. The show has lumberjacks competing in things like log rolling and pole climbing while the audience cheers them on. It is great fun and a wonderful addition to the Branson show scene - fun for all ages. My two year old grandson loved this show as much as my husband did. Surprisingly, so did I!!!

Tell me more about the Lumberjack Show. Where can you buy tickets? Is it held outdoors? Is it a dinner show & what are the show times? Thanks

Has anyone caught the Travel Channel show on Branson? I always find out about it after the fact. Did catch the tail end of it over the weekend when they were talking about Waltzing Waters and how it differs from all the other Water extravaganzas. If someone knows when it will be on again -- put it out on the post and I'll try to catch it! Very interested in what it might have to say!

Ummm...I really don't know what to add to this, but I liked the idea of interviewing one of the singing servers at the Hard Luck Diner. I have been to that place many times and find it to be very interesting.

Another place that you might try is heading over to the College of the Ozarks...right outside of Branson. CofO (a.k.a. "Hard Work U") is a college that all students have to work a 15-hour work week at an on-campus work station. It is very interesting and there is a variety of jobs there. (for more information call: (417) 334-6411.)

Lastly, as many of you already know...I am a fan of the Haygoods. I feel that interviewing one of them would be interesting because they just opened their NEW theatre in Branson (The Music City Centre) on Friday and it would be neat to see what they (or someone that works at their theatre) has experienced since the opening. Also, the Haygoods used to perform at Silver Dollar City for 10 years--so you could ask them how different it is to be away from SDC and on their own.

Just some ideas--hope this helps! :)
God Bless!
