Got back from Branson and had a WONDERFUL TIME - Usually we travel lin Summer with kids/family but this was our anniv. so went by ourselves. Here it goes.
LODGING - stayed first night at Quality Inn on Sheperd of Hills - not the greatest -bed comfortable but for price think we could have found something nicer - a little run down

We then moved for two nights to LONESOME DOVE CABINS - I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS - wish we would have stayed 3 nights. We stayed in one that had a beautiful fireplace w/wood provided - a front porch with a great view - a hot tub - full kitchen and very clean - nicely decorated - quiet and peaceful and yet - CLOSE to everything - I would stay there again - in fact we plan to do this again next fall and are already looking forward to it.

We had two special meals at Candlestick Inn and Top of the Rock - both wonderful!!! especially for special occasions. Ate first night at BT Bones and that was very good as well and I enjoyed the manager's wife who was singing - she was very good.

Went to SHoji show and I admit, was disappointed - not the same type of show we saw him do 8-9 years ago - would not go back

Did get out on lake once and did some shopping - mostly enjoyed the R & R at the cabin and some special meals out!!

Where are the Lonesome Dove Cabins and what about the prices?

They have a website:
www.lonesomedovelogcabins.com

The range goes from $90 to $120 per cabin (ours was $115) - the cabin was 720 square feet with a beautiful front porch and nice view - nice queen bed - living room area w/fireplace, TV/VCR, nice kitchen including microwave, dishwasher, and a nice bathroom with huge jacquzzi, shower, etc. and all decorated nice in knotty pine, etc... They only have 4 cabins so very quiet & peaceful.
They are located in Hollister - about 1 mile S. of Branson (I think) - took us maybe 5-10 minutes to get to shows or dinner or anything.

You are welcome!
The owner told me if you come during the holiday season - she decorates each cabin and has a beautiful Christmas tree inside as well as lights around the cabin - I thought that sounds pretty neat!
It was just special to do something different vs. a motel for a change
