My brother and I treated my parents to a long weekend in Branson. We stayed at the Branson Best, and really enjoyed it. The rooms were clean, Breakfast was good, and the cobbler and ice cream was a nice way to end the evening. It saved us from a trip to get a snack after the shows. Liked the location too.
Shows: We saw the Duttons, Haygoods, The Hugh Brothers, Lowe Family, and Buck Trent. All were good. This is the first time we did morning shows. The Buck Trent seemed to be my parents favorite. The show is very good and for only 3.00 more you get the breakfast. It was a good breakfast too. Buck Trent really is funny too. The Lowe family is very good with the musical instruments, they can play anything. As I have heard, they do a great section for the Military guys, very good. The Duttons were also a very good show for the evening, they did a variety of things. The guy(usher) who seats you is also very funny.
Eating Places: We ate at Hard Luck Diner, wished we had left room for the ice cream. The singers were really good there, need to go back next time just for dessert. We ate at Dockers buffet once, very good supper, lots of choices. We ate lunch at Odee's once. Really great BBQ sandwiches & fries for about $5.00, will be sure and do that one again. It was very good BBQ and my price range. We also had to get some fudge at Grand Country Market, a must for me! The best fudge around. It is always fun to watch him make it , and he is pretty funny with his jokes.
We ate again for supper, can't think of the name now, but its the same place Buck Trent had his morning show. The guiter player from Buck Trent plays in the evening from 5 till 7, so we ate there to listen to him again. He was really pretty good, the food selection was small there, but we felt like we had another show. My parents and brother really liked him.
Well, that is about it. We had a blast and my parents really seemed to have a ball.
