REVIEW: Whispering Hills
Written by LadyDrifter
We have stayed at Whispering Hills several times and have truly enjoyed it. We stayed there this past weekend and was somewhat disappointed. We reserved a king non-smoking room. We ended up with a double. Also, one of the pillows smelled of smoke pretty strongly. We did mention the bed mix-up when we checked in and was told to speak to the manager the next day about a possible rate change. Well, we didn't follow through. That's our fault. DH did mention it when we checked out the next day, but they did not seem to be very concerned about the mix-up. Again, I say, it was our fault. We should have followed through, but it just left us with a feeling of wanting to find a new place to stay.
We did partake of the ice cream social one evening. It was pretty good. There's always room for a cookie. :)
Great rooms.

Been here twice, 2nd time with another couple. Great breakfast choices and tasted good too. Cobbler in the evenings was great also but someone was late to open it that night. But all in all a great place for the price. Parking lot too steep for comfort though but not unlike some others here.
Whispering Hills Inn

After a 2 night stay this past weekend, we still found this to be a nice and clean motel. This time we just happened to get a room that had a bed that was too hard for me. Hubby didn't have any problems with it. We will definitely stay there again, but hope for a softer bed next time.
We loved the Whispering Hills Inn!

We had three priorities in our choice for lodging on this trip: convenient location OFF the strip, clean room, and hospitable staff. We chose the Whispering Hills Inn and found it to fit all of those criteria to a T! We got a good deal off of the hotel’s website that included 3 days/2 nights and 4 show tickets for $159. The hotel is right on the Shepherd of the Hills Expressway and is very close to the Blue Route. We found this was very convenient for us to get to the shows and attractions we wanted to see, without having to deal with much “strip” traffic. The room was very clean upon our arrival (and the air conditioner was cranked up high to help us cool down from the 100+ degree temperatures outside), and was maintained by the staff while we were there. The staff was very helpful upon our arrival and throughout our stay.
The room is built into the side of a hill (as are many, many motels in Branson), and is four floors tall. We stayed on the fourth floor. Each floor is accessible without using stairs except the fourth. It wasn’t a problem for us, but if anyone else is looking at this motel and has problems with mobility, you may want to ask for a room on one of the other floors. There were soda machines on each floor ($1 for 20oz bottles), and an ice machine on the 2nd and 3rd floors.
The hotel has a breakfast buffet from 6AM to 10AM in the hospitality room. On it, they have scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, donuts, French toast, oatmeal, fruit, several cereals, and make-your- own waffles. They also have coffee, a cappuccino maker, orange juice and apple juice. The buffet was good, and included in the cost of the room.
In the evening, from 9:30PM to 11:30PM, they have free dessert in the hospitality room. This consists of cookies, blackberry cobbler, peach cobbler, and ice cream. It was a nice way for us to end each night of our stay!
The only negatives about this hotel for us were the soft water (which, I'm assuming is Branson-wide, and not exclusive to this hotel), and the shower head being really low. (I'm 5'4 and it was barely high enough for me.) Those, of course, were very minor inconveniences, and all the plusses quickly made us forget about the minor negatives.
For the price and the location, we couldn’t have beaten the Whispering Hills Inn. We definitely plan to return on our next trip to Branson!
