The Shack....one of our favorite places to eat at any time of year that we are in Branson. Home cooked lunch specials everyday...my favorites are the Chicken Fried Steak (almost as big as the plate) and the Hot Roast Beef Sandwich (sliced roast beef piled high on bread, with home "mashed" potatoes, all covered with wonderful brown gravy), but hubby's is The Shack Burger. It is honestly the biggest burger I've ever seen, served with lots of fries. The beef stew in winter is also delicious. THEN...there is the "mile high pie", chocolate (my favorite), peanut butter, and lemon, with the tallest merignue I have ever seen. If you get there as they are taking them out of the oven....one bite is like heaven!! The blackberry cobbler with a scoop of ice cream is also wonderful.

We recommend this place to anyone that ask, "what's good downtown?"
