Laughter rolls in like morning fog in the Ozark Mountains as the IMAX Little Opry Theatre lights up with Smoke on the Mountain, conceived by Alan Bailey and written by Connie Ray. This dazzling jewel is a magnificent blend of story and song, that has become one of the most produced shows in the country, as well as the most sought out show in Branson, now in its 11th season! Smoke on the Mountain takes you back to a simpler time, 1938, where your group becomes the congregation of the Mount Pleasant Church. You are invited to their "first ever Saturday night sing," where Pastor Oglethorpe is bound and determined to move his flock into the "modern world." The cast is simply spectacular and consists of some of the most talented folks in town! Vera, the Bible quoting, hymn belting, matriarch of the Sanders family, is played by Angel O'Brien, who in 1998 was inspired by God to produce and direct this show in Branson. Vera is joined by her husband, Burl, and their twins Dennis and Denise with their laugh a second antics, eldest daughter, June Sanders who "doesn't sing, she signs,"and the Wayward Uncle Stanley. Smoke on the Mountain is not all laughs, however. There are many poignant and moving moments in the show. A message of fiath, family and forgiveness rings clear as the Sanders share their testimonies. "Vocal performances are outstanding-clear, rich in perfrect harmony," says Rene Ray of the Shepherd of the Hills Gazette. Country music superstar Mel Tillis says, "I believe Smoke on the Mountain is the finest collection of great old time gospel music combined with hilarious comedy that you'll find anywhere!" Special Bonus! From now to the end of the year every customer who purchases a ticket to "Smoke on the Mountain" will receive a free ticket to any IMAX Adventure film of your choice! |

A little Jewel of a Show

Smoke on the Mountain proves that you don't have to stoop to bad language to be humorous. This Show combines winsome performances, beautiful musical harmony, and clean funny, funny humor. I love this charming and sweet Show. I also want to see the Sanders Family Christmas. It's sort of holiday sequel to Smoke on the Mountain.
